A 2019 List

Done with football until September, back to music.

4.5/5 - Gorgeous dream thrash. Album glides with grace and style.
The Middle

4.0/5 - Voice of an angel. Excellent EP.
3James Blake
Assume Form

4.0/5 - His most accessible work. Shakes things up from his usual go-to formula of late. Pretty/romantic to boot.
4Big Wild

4.0/5 - The most pleasant surprise of 2019. Expected this to be bland electro-pop and instead got one of the most enjoyable and fun albums since the first Bleachers record.
5Sarah Louise
Nighttime Birds and Morning Stars

3.8/5 - Cold and distant experimental folk joined by warm, inviting guitars. Feels like a journey through space.
The Language of Injury

3.8/5 - Awesome instrumentation with incredible variation. Would score higher if I could just get past the samey screams every track.
7Angelo De Augustine

3.7/5 - Sufjan-core. Stunning folk music even if it sounds borrowed.
8Better Oblivion Community Center
Better Oblivion Community Center

3.5/5 - Two incredible talents in Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst join forces. Still not what it could have been, but there are a few SOTY contenders that make this worth returning to consistently.
9Buke and Gase

3.5/5 - Very jarring/experimental indie-rock. A lot of the songs lack a real hook but it can be an interesting listen especially when they get into a groove.
Look Alive

3.5/5 - Guster keeps chugging along. Another very listenable indie-pop album.
