magic the gathering ravnica allegiance

thoughts on the new set?
First Spell

i really want to make black beatdown work with the addition of spawn of mayhem.. but black.... i don't like ravnica sets. mono color decks should imo always be viable. mono black right now... i don't know
2dimmu borgir
For All Tid

something like efficient card draw with arguel's blood fast into fast creatures and the new 1cmc thoughtseize (drill bit)
Dark Medieval Times

but then it seems so gimpy to not play two colors... i mean the strongest cards available to black are multicolored.. kaya's wrath, mortify, bedeviled
End of Life / Strid

and maybe the best argument (to myself) for splashing is how the most FUN cards seem multicolored. theater of horrors and captive audience in particular
Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism

there's also the new enchantment font of agonies, (1cmcblack) where you, when paying life, put counters on this card, and at 4 counters, you can destroy target creature. that's some serious play right there! especially if you're playing white, with adanto vanguard requiring 4 life payment to become indestructible. some fun synergy. also works with arguel's bloodfast, shocklands, & doom whisperer

anyway, what are you all playing?
