any bibliophiles, bookworms, lit. nerds here?

i'm not interested in defining, gatekeeping or nitpicking any of these terms. if you feel like this applies to you, then i'm interested in hearing your thoughts and experiences. feel free to discuss (or not) any of the below to any degree you feel like sharing
1Perturbator
The Uncanny Valley

when did you start reading? when did you realize that you loved to read and began consciously seeking out more and more books based on whatever personal criteria? what were some of those criteria, if you feel that's at all worth mentioning?
2Perturbator
New Model

to what extent and in what way would you say that formal education (specifically literature classes throughout school and if applicable university) shaped your relationship with reading?
3Mega Drive
Seas of Infinity

do you feel like the books studied in literature class were worth studying? how many / which were worth the critical and retrospective praise? how do you feel about books whose importance is generally considered their innovation in terms of writing or subject matter, rather than the quality of more tangible, intuitive attributes? (e.g. storytelling, characters, strong cohesion in worldbuilding and internal logic etc.)
4Burial
Truant/Rough Sleeper

which do you personally value more: the quality and execution of said tangible elements, or the emotional/intellectual impact a book has had on you (for reasons that might not necessarily correlate with its quality as a work of literature)? are there any books that you recognize as deeply flawed or even poor for which you still have a lot of love/respect as a result of how they shaped you as a person? (ayn rand fans pls respond)
5Burial
Rival Dealer

how much do you read per unit of time of your choice (week/month/year)? how do you prefer to read (e.g. binge-reading on weekends/vacation vs. a little every day)? how do you keep yourself from burning out?
6Burial
South London Boroughs

how do you keep things fresh and interesting? do you stick to a few genres of choice or is everything fair game? how much do you keep up with recent releases aside from big, longer-running series?
7Talking Heads
Speaking in Tongues

by the way, list is just things i've been spinning recently

obviously love em all
8David Bowie
Diamond Dogs

ive relistened to this more in the last year or so than id listened to it in all the years prior, and somehow it just keeps getting better

i owe you one for this fripplertronics
