nothing much to be discovered here for metal veterans, this is more to keep track of what i have in the genre for myself. clearly im a lot more picky with melodeath than death metal, which i have one list and 70% of another list filled with. not including bands like Wintersun and Children of Bodom cause idk, i feel like theyre their own sort of thing.
Incorrigible Bigotry

sweet riffs ov h8
2Light This City
Remains Of The Gods

basically a Darkest Hour clone but they m/ nonetheless. theyve reformed and are releasing a new album this year.
3Bloodshot Dawn

melodeath with big hairy balls
Above the Weeping World

uber-melodic, mid-paced melodeath
5Heaven Shall Burn
Iconoclast (Part 1: The Final Resistance)

super pissed melodeath that sometimes gets lumped into the metalcore category
Descent Into Chaos

At the Gates-esque melodeath with the vocalist from aforementioned band
The Chainheart Machine

more At the Gates-esque melodeath, though i always felt their first two were better than anything ATG did. i find ATG sort of boring in general though, i think the bands they influenced were better than they were. yeah, thats right.
8Darkest Hour
Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation

i mean if you dont know these guys then just suck a dick, one of my favorite bands ever
9The Black Dahlia Murder

manages to be melodic while sounding evil as shit at the same time
10In Flames
The Jester Race

once again, if you dont know them...

one of the first melodeath albums before the genre got, as some might call it, "all gay"
12Amon Amarth
Twilight of the Thunder God

pretty sure most people who are into metal have heard this band at some point
13Intestine Baalism
Ultimate Instinct

changed my mind about these guys. heaviest melodeath band out there? possibly.
14Night In Gales
The Last Sunsets
15Decrepit Birth
Diminishing Between Worlds
17Lykathea Aflame
A Celebration of Guilt
