Marilyn Manson - Ranked
Never done a list before so here we go... Marilyn Manson's studio albums ranked.
Classic. Simple as that. Long but holds your attention from start to finish. Manson at his brilliant best.
Dark, dangerous and just bloody brilliant. Took a while to grow on me (I wasn't around when it came out) but once I was in, I was in. Would have loved to have seen him on this record.
Bold and experimental off the back of Antichrist but there are plenty of stunning moments on this album. Would be most bands' best album. I seem to like it more than most though.
The Golden Age of Grotesque
Not as artistically brilliant as the top three, but the songs on this...come on. Huge.
Heaven Upside Down
A real return to form. The first four tracks are right up there with his best (well, almost) and Blood Honey is excellent as well. Easily the best he's done since Grotesque.
The Pale Emperor
There is a darkness and 'sleaziness' about this album that I love. Loved 'Deep Six' and don't feel like the rest of the album lived up to that but still a more than decent record.
The High End of Low
There is plenty of good stuff on this album but it is a bit too long for what it is. Still a record I'll stick on now and again, never really understood the hatred for it.
The highest rated album on this list of the ones I don't listen to at all any more. Just never really managed to grab me. Not bad, but not necessarily good.
Eat Me, Drink Me
This album is so fucking boring I actually re-evaluate my entire life when I listen to it. Then I look at the screen, AND I'M ONLY ON TRACK 4! Sorry, never been a fan of this record. So one-paced it hurts.
Portrait of an American Family
I feel bad putting this one last because the truth is I've never given it enough time, maybe I will. But I just don't like it. However, it's more of a 'not for me' rather than it being particularly bad.
mechanical animals is the only album he made that had cross-over into glam, noise, electronica and a handful of other genres.. that alone, makes it his best..
pretty shite artist overall though, the more I listen the less I like all of it..
Great list but 10 is definitely not 10 bro even though I get your reasoning
first 4 are the first 4 m/
Pale Emperor needs to be higher.
top 3 are the only ones ive heard and you ordered them correctly
9 is way too low, but great list.
Top 4 is top 4 good job dude
"I wasn't around when it came out"
Where were you, bro?
New-gen Manson fans piss me off
Switch 6 and 5 tho
Certain bands' discography ask for ranking. Manson, not that much. It's easy to say "this album is way to low" and then realise that everything you've put above is quite good. Why arguing whether antichrist is better than holy wood or mechanical etc... if the albums are good, they're good.
2 is 1 for me
Our lists are really similar but I'd put Portrait a few notches higher.
