A God Damned Travesty / Rec Me Good Stuff

Here we go lads.
1Brand New
Science Fiction

I've been on this site over a year, and I still have under 500 ratings? This can't stand. Rec me one (1) album of any genre that is either:
2King Crimson
In the Court of the Crimson King

- A classic I should have listened to by now (there are many of these, check my ratings if you don't believe me).
3Upper Wilds
Guitar Module 2017

- A super-obscure album that you think deserves more love & attention- something with hardly any ratings, perhaps by an artist you had to add to the database yourself. Bonus points if it's free on Bandcamp.
4Modest Mouse
The Lonesome Crowded West

I'm not really planning on doing a multiple-round tournament or anything, but whoever's rec I like the most wins, I guess?

Infected

Damn, this is good. Reminds me a lot of Oingo Boingo, but with better lyrics and less ska. Overall, it's clever, creative, and catchy as hell. The last 2 tracks end the album on a comparatively weak note, though. fav tracks: Infected, Heartland, Slow Train to Dawn

Another Green World

Gorgeous, stately, and deliberate. The more pop-minded parts with vocals feel almost Beatles-esque at times. At its worst, 'Another Green World' feels a tad stiff and formal, but for the most part it's really quite lovely. fav tracks: The Big Ship, I'll Come Running, Becalmed

I'm a total sucker for this type of 80s-fetishizing synth-funk schlock. I'd actually heard "Atomic Karate" a few months ago and liked it, and amazingly it's not even the best song on here. It's super derivative and kind of insubstantial, but this album is still gobs of fun. fav tracks: Ladyworld, Body Image

Fantastic-sounding live album, everything is crystal-clear and I can only hear the audience when they're applauding or laughing. I also like the little bits of banter in between the songs, I wish more live albums did that. Harrod and Funck both have wonderful singing voices, and the guitar arrangements are simple yet poignant. 56 minutes is a long time to fill with just guitar, vocals, and the occasional harmonica, but H&F do about as well as anyone could be expected to. fav tracks: All Fall Down, I Will Find Jill C., Model Waif
