Rad new pop-punk album!
One of my favorite bands just released a new album. Unfortunately, I'm one of like 12 people in the world who actually give a shit about them, but I'm super hyped on it and want to promote it any way I can. List is their discog up to this point, and some similar albums to give you an idea of what they sound like.
The new album. Catchy, energetic pop-punk with a light sprinkling of synths for flavor. Best tracks: High School Cheerleader, Vermont, Dipshit. Listen to it at: https://open.spotify.com/album/0TsOMrgtWGR77QqpbQr9QP
That's So Killer
Their second album. No synths, and a beefy bass sound that calls to mind early Green Day records. Best tracks: Satan, Low, Circles
Their first album. The recording's a tad rough, but it features some of their strongest songs to date. Best tracks: Kate, Libertine, My Meds My Friends & I. You can get it on Bandcamp for free here: https://cankerblossom.bandcamp.com/album/gooner
Probably the closest estimate sound-wise
Road to Ruin
Third-closest? IDK they don't sound very similar but you can definitely hear the influence.
Similar juvenile sense of humor.
Similar self-deprecating tone to the lyrics.
Sing, Sing Death House
Canker Blossom have a less fleshed-out guitar sound, but the lead singer sounds like a less angry Brody Dalle.
Stranger Than Fiction
They have the same sort of group vocal thing going on a bit on "In Space". Also just the general balance of tunefulness and aggression is similar (lyrics are waay less political than BR though)
|Copypasted from the description since people don't seen to read those: One of my favorite bands just released a new album. All these albums are pretty short, so if you have a half-hour to spare, give one of 'em a listen, why dontcha?
Hey man, I love me some pop punk, so I'll be sure to check when I get out of work.
Jammin 2 now, it's not bad. I always enjoy a female lead singer. This is straight up no frills solid pop punk. Nothing wrong with that, they have a good sound.
My pop-punk band is releasing an EP this week and we have a few tracks up on BC at the moment, if you want to check it out:
checking this now (both Kompy's shit and Dungeon's shit)
Awesome Unique, I'm very curious to hear your thoughts, positive or negative!
So I've heard it and I can tell that the band surely knows how to make a fun tune, but those vocals, good lord, they are atrocious.
If they sound like Green Day, Descendents, and The Ramones I'll defo check them out.
@DungeonBoy I heard one of your band's tracks a few weeks ago when you made a list about it. It was aight, vox didn't really do it for me though. I'll be sure to listen and r8 the whole thing when it comes out. :)
@Unique Fair enough, I absolutely disagree on the vocals but w/e
@Drifter I can't tell if you're commenting on the music or mocking my word choice in the title...
I'm mocking you but I'll check later if I remember and let you know if it is indeed rad (:
