2017 AOTY Contenders So(wing) Far

I'll just include anything I rated a 4.5+, if there's some obvious Sowing-core (smooth, shitty indie) that you're aware of and I missed plz make me aware.
1Brand New
Science Fiction

(5.0) - I mean who are we all kidding, this will probably win. But at no fault to this band, this has been an astoundingly strong year and one of the below may actually have an outside shot at knocking this down to #2.
2Manchester Orchestra
A Black Mile to the Surface

(5.0) - The FEELS. I can't take it. Better than Simple Math.
3Gang of Youths
Go Farther in Lightness

(5.0) - Springsteen and Berninger make love in a bed made out sorrow-filled, silver-lined emotions.
4Fleet Foxes
Crack-Up

(5.0) - Better than Helplessness Blues in every way. It's like it's ballsier, more daring and creative older brother.
5Lorde
Melodrama

(5.0) - What the fuck is perfect pop?
6The National
Sleep Well Beast

(4.7) - Against initial odds that saw this around a 3.5/4, this is actually working its way towards being a classic.
7Dirty Projectors
Dirty Projectors

(4.5) - Very poppy indie. Very weird. Very good.
8Alt-J
Relaxer

(4.5) - Imagine that you're floating through the night sky in a hot air ballon, mesmerized by the stars and the summer breeze blowing through your hair. That's what most of this is like.
