15 Recent Digs!!!!!
just a few albums ive listened to recently that ive been digging. i highly recommend checking some of these out if you arent still busy looking at the albums from my past lists |
1 | | SUP Hegemony
an experimental/progressive death metal band. theyve been around for a while but this is their new album. its a huge album, at parts a little slow with the riffs but the vocals (both growled and sung) are great. love the artwork too |
2 | | Horse Feathers House With No Home
chill folk album, great guitarwork |
3 | | Ivanhoe Lifeline
ive been looking for another solid progressive Metal band and ive found it with these guys. solid vocals (but at times he tries too hard) with excellent instrumentation |
4 | | A.Armada Anam Cara
post-rock. very well done, in my top 5 post-rock albums this year |
5 | | Universe217 Universe217
ok this is a little hard to explain. they mix doom and psychadelic rock, with some drone influence. they have female vocals that are normally clean but very haunting. she does scream sometimes and theyre emotional screams. |
6 | | Hotel Lights Firecracker People
just a chill folk album with calm vocals. great for listening to with your girlfriend |
7 | | Obsidian Emerging
death metal with some progressive influences. heavy and not too technical, just the right amount. some clean vocals are used and add a nice touch |
8 | | Southern Voodoo Devil's Drive
pure southern rock baby! fun album to rock out to. heres a link to the album art since its pretty cool. ://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/southern_voodoo/devils_drive/ |
9 | | Elite We Own the Mountains
one of the better black metal albums released this year. instrumentation is solid and great production while keeping some rawness to their sound. vocals are great and some of my fav black metal vocals ever. |
10 | | In A Nutshell Arrhythmia
what a big indie album this is! with three songs over 10 minutes, it really keeps the listener on the edge with sweeping sounds that create perfect atmosphere. vocals are top quality as well. album as a whole is around 70 minutes long |
11 | | Holy Moses Agony of Death
thrash metal very similar to recent Exodus albums. at first listen to this album, i had no clue the vocalist was a chick! she holds her own and is not at all a gimmick |
12 | | Hey Rosetta! Into Your Lungs (And Around in Your Heart and on T
solid indie rock album. the artwork really does a good job giving their sound an image. the full album name is Into Your Lungs (And Around in Your Heart and on Through Your Blood). sputnik dislikes long album names |
13 | | Vestigial Translucent Communion
dark ambient album. really gives off a post-apocalyptic feel too it. one of the best dark ambient albums ive herad |
14 | | 7th Nemesis Archetype of Natural Violence
instrumentation wise this album gets a 4.5/5. vocals are around a 2.5/5. thats the only downside to this prog. metal band. the vocals are mostly screamed but they sound too forced. his more growled vocals are good and fit better, but his gargled screams are annoying at places. still, the music is whats most appealing about them. worth checking out |
15 | | Scott Kelly The Wake
one of the vocalist from Neurosis has a new solo album and this is it. his vocals are rough and painful, but full of emotion and sadness. i love it. imagine a more sung version of his screams for his said band. the acoustic guitar playing is really good as well |
