11.14.16 | Just finished Humans, which was great. Probably going to start Black Mirror or True Detective now. |
Papa Universe
11.14.16 | I'm glad that it moved to Netflix and is finally getting all the attention it deserves. |
accompliceofmydeath
11.14.16 | Probably a top 5 favorite show ever for me. 15 Million Merits and The Entire History of You are my favorites. The Christmas one is pretty great, too. |
DungeonBoy
11.14.16 | I saw the first episode of season 1 last night and loved it, I'm looking forward to watching them all. |
MonotoneMop
11.14.16 | New season was alright. Nothing touches White Christmas though. |
rapideyemovement
11.14.16 | The pilot is great in a way it delivers a heavy satire without using the high-edge technology theme included in the rest of the series. It definitely sets you in the mood though. Christmas one of the best indeed, but after I watched Be Right Back, I couldn't put my shit together for like 3 days. |
AmericanFlagAsh
11.14.16 | Just watched White Christmas and holy shit was that a mind fuck |
Conmaniac
11.14.16 | Be Right Back fucked me up good and same with White Christmas. both are so so sad...the video game one was prob the scariest one to think about and the army one is prob the most disturbing. 15 mil and entire history are great too like I've loved all the episodes so far. havent finished a couple tho |
jtswope
11.14.16 | Everyone should be watching this show. |
AmericanFlagAsh
11.14.16 | I really liked The Entire History of You |
Conmaniac
11.14.16 | it's great and kinda creepy especially because of the guy but he was sooooo right like fuck. then it just destroys you
San Junipero is also fucking devastating and a realllllly interesting concept |
Trebor.
11.14.16 | First episode of season 3 was an absolute dumpster fire, letting other people write the script was such a bad idea
only episode of season 3 that really hit me the way seasons 1 and 2 did was San Junipero |
AmericanFlagAsh
11.14.16 | It's such a great but also destructive technological advancement. I can't make up my mind whether it would be good or not. |
AmericanFlagAsh
11.14.16 | @Trebor
Nosedive was a fantastic outlook into the implications of social media wtf are you talking about. The scary part is, China was actually thinking about making a rating system for people. |

Conmaniac
11.14.16 | Nosedive I haven't seen yet and idk man the 3-4 episodes of season 3 have been fantastic for me so far |
AmericanFlagAsh
11.14.16 | Nosedive doesn't have shock value, but it's more like slowly realizing "shit this is exactly where we are headed" |
macman76
11.14.16 | I promise that the algorithms I make when nosedive comes to pass will be nice to you all lol
I thought, and I guess it would have been harder to pull off, they were gonna play that technology as being a driver of inequality/racism/sexism or whatever but instead the episode ended on the lesson that we need to be more honest or something |
AmericanFlagAsh
11.14.16 | Yeah because everybody was always so fake just to get good ratings |
rapideyemovement
11.14.16 | Nosedive wasn't that good (by Black Mirror standards), but it's concept was the closest and the most relatable to real life.
@Conmaniac: For me the scariest episode was White Bear. I'm not too fond of the one with the video game because it felt too shallow in comparison with the majority of the episodes, even though Brooker might've wanted to take a different direction with that episode, but I don't know... |
rapideyemovement
11.14.16 | San Junipero is probably right after Be Right Back for me. The feels man. |
Conmaniac
11.14.16 | haven't seen White Bear yet
and idk man it felt a bit shallow but because of the ending it all makes it worth it imo. maybe it's because im interested in psychedelics and how the brain works and stuff but the idea that he "experienced" all of that in .04 seconds is fucking terrifying man. made me think about people that die in their sleep...during their dreams....what does the brain do in those situations? |
SgtShock
11.14.16 | Such a good show. I will say every episode of season 3 feels 15 minutes too long, but they were all great. The Entire History Of You is still my favorite, though. I remember watching that, then immediately turning my computer off and sitting on the porch alone for like 20 minutes, just taking it all in. |
rapideyemovement
11.14.16 | @Conmaniac: The thing with the .04 seconds was kind of cool, but I feel they should've gave that particular part more screen time and explanation. And then, there are the parts that made it, that maybe shouldn't have. For example, they kind of wasted half of the episode on the storyline with the girl, which I think, the episode could've lived without. |
Conmaniac
11.14.16 | true but it made it all the more real. his mind remembered the girl vividly because she was somewhat linked to getting him the job. it maybe was a bit too long but it helped give context for why his brain was seeing the things it was seeing.
also the beauty of the .04 seconds part is that there was no need to give it more screen time. that was the entire point, it happened so quickly... |
zaruyache
11.14.16 | it's on my list but I have yet to check it out. Still slowly getting through Bojack atm. |
porcupinetheater
11.14.16 | I watched the first couple episodes and couldn't stand 'em, does it get any better down the road? |
AngryJohnny
11.14.16 | Really loved Shut Up and Dance personally. Perhaps because everything that happened in it could happen tomorrow.
It'd be in my top 5 episodes along with San Junipero, White Christmas, White Bear and Fifteen Million Merits. Haven't really worked out an order.
Did think season 3 was pretty strong overall, despite a couple of duds |
MonotoneMop
11.14.16 | I changed my mind, Shut Up And Dance is one of the best. |
JeetJeet
11.14.16 | Shut Up and Dance is the best episode in s3 besides San Junipero. |
PumpBoffBag
11.14.16 | Be Right Back and The Entire History Of You are my two least favourite |
Ryus
11.14.16 | yeah toad your top 6 are pretty much my top 6
i did like the new season, especially san junipero, shut up and dance, and men against fire. nosedive and playtest were pretty mediocre and the last one was good, if overlong |
AmericanFlagAsh
11.14.16 | Wow no love for Hated in the Nation?
Honestly there are no weak episodes. Maybe the Waldo one doesn't hit as hard, even that one is great. |
Valkoor952
11.14.16 | "Just finished Humans, which was great. Probably going to start Black Mirror or True Detective now."
The latter. It's amazing, easily one of the best tv seasons. |
Ryus
11.14.16 | hated in the nation was pretty good
the waldo moment strays from what i love about black mirror but it's more relevant than ever now so ¯_(ツ)_/¯ |
AmericanFlagAsh
11.14.16 | Truth |
Ryus
11.14.16 | i can vouch for true detective s1 being amazing |
DanielNightLewis
11.14.16 | The Waldo one isn't a heavy hitter, but it tells a decent story and makes a wider point that is being evidenced on a lesser degree at the moment.
I really liked Hated in the Nation, the little twist caught me unaware which was pleasant as I'm quick to spot them normally.
Shut Up and Dance was really great but the structure was a little too similar to the movie 13 Game of Death for me. |
protokute
11.14.16 | today i watched the second ep from the first season as my friend recd. and yea, very good with some thought provoking images. I only didn't like so much the episode lenght, does the others have the same lenght? |
Ryus
11.14.16 | the reason why i love black mirror though is because its so devastating and heavy-hitting. the lighter tone didnt sit well with me even though its a relevant concept |
protokute
11.14.16 | currently watching x files too, which i'm enjoying, it has a chill vibe, don't know |
AngryJohnny
11.14.16 | Did like hated in the nation yeah
series 3 is basically in 2 divisions for me
Div 1 being San Junipero, Shut Up and Dance, Hated in the Nation and Div 2 being the others
|
hallgath
11.14.16 | I absolutely LOVED "Exit Music (For A Film)" playing at the end of Shut Up and Dance |
AngryJohnny
11.14.16 | That was great yeah |
JeetJeet
11.14.16 | I don't think s3 had a weak moment at all. Solid and entertaining across the board. Hated in The Nation reminded me of a sci-fi version of Luther. |
rapideyemovement
11.14.16 | @Conmaniac: Yeah, the only reason I did like it as much as the other episodes is because it felt just weird compared to the other episodes, having in mind that i watched them chronologically. Maybe if I watched it first, i would've had a different impression. Regardless, in vacuum each episode is above average piece of TV.
@protokute: Yeah, they vary 40-70 minutes.
By the way, still haven't watched Shut Up and Dance, Men Against Fire and Hated in the Nation. |
MrSirLordGentleman
11.15.16 | Show freaking rules. One of the best I've ever seen
Each episode is better than most movies I've seen |
Drifter
01.18.18 | "San Junipero is also fucking devastating and a realllllly interesting concept"
This |
TheGreatQ
01.18.18 | I think I’m the only one who thinks San Junipero is way overrated. Like, it’s so predictable and cliche. If it wasn’t about lesbians no one would give a shit. |
Insurrection
01.18.18 | metalhead is the only episode that's flat out trash |
Drifter
01.18.18 | "If it wasn’t about lesbians no one would give a shit."
It definitely helps... |
Trophycase
01.18.18 | What? Metalhead was a fine episode, my biggest gripe being it was filmed in black and white.
Best Episodes are easily (no order): Fifteen Million Merits, San Junipero, White Christmas, Nosedive, Hang the DJ. |
