A Corner For Metal Ballads

A corner for metal slower, more emotionally driven songs. Not a definitive list, so if you can share some other good songs, do it!

I couldnt help but to fucking cry the first time i heard this and watched the video.
While now is a cliche`d song for posers that only know it from guitar hero, ONE was
undoubtely the pinnacle of AJFA, and of anti-war themed songs. The latter part of
this song just M/ HOOOORRDD

With Chuck songwriting going through the roof, coupled with some of the finest
musicians of the era, its a no brainer that this song fuckin slays. RIP Chuck, you
could made Raeggae music and still it would be ruled, because it ALWAYS came
from your heart
8Tools of Separation

Yeah, relationships suck. No, this song doesnt. JAM it now, with the full album!
Return to serenity

Testament might as well be the kings of metal ballads, and this one shows why.
GREAT musicianship and songwriting on this one
Paralyzed, Mesmerized

a breakup song, when you get out of a relationship and you know the girl is
SCREWED up without you.. until Tommy soloing just makes you go "FUCK THAT
5Fates Warning
We only say goodbye

yup, this rules. yup, you HAVENT heard this. yup, go QUICKLY to jam this monster
of a theme that will remind you of "that" girl you had to let go
4Symphony X
Paradise Lost

Ever been cheated on? This was the first fucking song i heard when my longtime
(almost wife) girlfriend screwed over. Well, fuck her, more m/, less love
The Legacy

Chuck is one of the most amazing and underrated vocalists ever. His soft vocals
just ROB the spotlight of this song, but the soloing SOMEHOW manages to take it
back.. slighty
Cemetary Gates

Dime`s amazing riff coupled with Phil`s softer voice is just a recipe for greatness. I
always remember my dead sister when i jam this..
Fade to Black

Maybe the first metal ballad, its also one of the finest. The soloing at the end after
the (goodbyeeeee) echo its just amazing
