breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | I've been wanting to do something like this for quite some time, as the '90s are my favorite decade in music. With the exception of the top 2, these are compiled in no particular order, I just added them in as I thought of them. But yeah, OK Computer is my favorite album of the '90s, with Loveless cutting it close but coming in second place. |

breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | Thanks guys. Mezz probably would have been on this but, I only wanted one album per artist on the list, and I'd argue that Blue Lines is a lot more influential. |
breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | Also, honorable mentions to:
Autechre ~ Tri Repetae
Massive Attack ~ Mezzanine
R.E.M. ~ Automatic for the People
Mos Def ~ Black on Both Sides
Depeche Mode ~ Violator
The Verve ~ Urban Hymns
The Prodigy ~ Experience
The Prodigy ~ Music for the Jilted Generation
Bjork ~ Homogenic
Garth Brooks ~ No Fences
Garth Brooks ~ Ropin' the Wind
Oasis ~ (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
And some others I'm probably forgetting at the moment. |

breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | @klap Sorry man, but none of his albums hit that 5/5 status for me. A lot of 4.5's, but I'm just not
feeling like any of them make it up that extra .5. I'm horrible, I know. |
anarchistfish
02.07.13 | onde está o gybe
I'm surprised how many 5s some people give out. |
breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | @AnarchistFish That'd probably be when pigs fly though. Or when I rate The Fragile higher than a 3 as well, both unlikely scenarios it seems. |
lucazade22
02.07.13 | Would've liked to see these...:
Third Eye Blind - self-titled
American Football - self-titled
Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication |
Atari
02.07.13 | nice list |

02.07.13 | 1 is the king

breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | @lucazade22 Blood Sugar Sex Magik almost made it, but Californication is only a 4/5 in my opinion, and that goes for Third Eye Blind's self-titled album as well. Even though I think it's Megadeth's best, Rust in Peace comes up to a 4.5/5 for me. As for American Football's self-titled debut, well, I just think that album sucks personally lol, sorry. |
anarchistfish
02.07.13 | Why 91? |
breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | lol why did my list just get un-featured? |

02.07.13 | It has the featured icon next to it but it doesn't show up as featured on the page. Huh, that's weird. Oh well.
@Atari Phenomenal album, but it's only a 4.5/5 for me. |
Atari
02.07.13 | So when you say only 4.5/5 are you implying these are all 5's for you? |
breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | Yeah. Once again, like I say in the description of the list, this list is entirely comprised of albums that are 5/5's for me. Classics and such, at least it's my belief that they are. |
Atari
02.07.13 | jagged little pill destroys the miseducation of lauryn hill lol but still a sweet list. |
breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | Haha I would strongly argue against that, but thank you man! |
GiaNXGX
02.07.13 | It has the featured icon next to it but it doesn't show up as featured on the page. Huh, that's weird. Oh well.
my list's magick destroyed your feature, sorry. |

02.07.13 | It came back as soon as you said that lol. You've got the magic touch Gia. |
Atari
02.07.13 | I'm old so I actually owned a physical CD of alanis morisette and that lauryn hill album. Doo Wop (that thing) ruled but I don't remember enjoying the rest of the album that much whereas jagged little pill had like 5 songs I was obsessed with lol. |

02.07.13 | breakingthefragile's favorites or allmusic.com's favorites? ;) |
breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | Nah, I'm pretty sure I plagiarized this entire thing off of ArtistDirect. |
CK
02.07.13 | Gotcha. But hey, where's the U2?! |
breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | Achtung Baby's awesome, but it's not their definitive album. That's something I took into account as well when making the list. If an album an artist released in the '90s was their magnum opus. |
CK
02.07.13 | Definitely not their definitive album, but I like it more than The Joshua Tree (which is their definitive album imo). War has to be my favorite, regardless of my ratings ;) |
breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | Yeah, when I said definitive album I was referring to The Joshua Tree lol. U2 is a great band. |
mindleviticus
02.07.13 | Dots and Loops and Cobras and Phases Play Voltage in the Milky Night are so much better than Emperor Tomato Ketchup |
YoYoMancuso
02.07.13 | extremely solid top 10. 10 is my favorite album of all time. |
breakingthefragile
02.07.13 | The list is compiled in no particular order except for the top 2, but thanks man. The top 10 where actually the one's that were first on my mind when I added them anyway haha, so I guess that does reflect them as being my favorite ones. |

02.07.13 | yea 90s post-punk was the best |

02.07.13 | I prefer the 80s post punk scene. Early 2000s wave of post-punk revival was where it was at too. |
YankeeDudel
02.07.13 | no dude the 90s were its peak |
