| Top 30 Hard Rock/Metal Albuns of All Time (In My Opinion)
I'm kinda bored... so, let's do this. | 30 | | Faith No More Angel Dust | 29 | | Stratovarius Elements, Pt. 1 | 28 | | Uriah Heep Demons and Wizards | 27 | | Anthrax Spreading the Disease | 26 | | Ozzy Osbourne Diary of a Madman | 25 | | Dream Theater Images and Words | 24 | | Angra Temple of Shadows | 23 | | Iron Maiden Piece of Mind | 22 | | Iron Maiden Powerslave | 21 | | Pantera Vulgar Display of Power | 20 | | Rainbow Rising | 19 | | Blind Guardian Imaginations from the Other Side | 18 | | Black Sabbath Sabbath Bloody Sabbath | 17 | | Skid Row Slave to the Grind | 16 | | Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast | 15 | | Slayer Seasons in the Abyss | 14 | | Megadeth Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? | 13 | | Pantera Cowboys from Hell | 12 | | AC/DC Back In Black | 11 | | Judas Priest Painkiller | 10 | | Deep Purple Machine Head | 9 | | Judas Priest Sad Wings of Destiny | 8 | | Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti | 7 | | Metallica Ride The Lightning | 6 | | Iron Maiden Seventh Son of a Seventh Son | 5 | | Black Sabbath Black Sabbath | 4 | | Def Leppard Hysteria | 3 | | Judas Priest Stained Class
Halford's best vocal performance, catchy fast-paced songs (that later would be main influences to Speed Metal, Thrash
Metal and Power Metal, three very important Metal sub-genres) and Judas Priest finally reaching their unique style are the
reasons because this album deserves more than Painkiller and British Steel the #3 place on my list and the "best JP album" title.
Best songs: White Heat, Red Hot, Invader and Saints in Hell. | 2 | | Queensryche Operation: Mindcrime
Operation: Mindcrime surely is the Queensryche's most intense and creative album to date (i mean, forever and ever) and
deserves its respect for being an amazing work at any category that it fits, doesn't matter if we're talking about Concept
Albuns, Progressive Metal albuns, Metal albuns, Rock albuns, music albuns... or just art.
Best songs: Operation: Mincrime, Revolution Calling and Spreading The Disease. | 1 | | Megadeth Rust in Peace
Megadeth's Rust In Peace it's a incredible Thrash Metal record that shows the band at its fullest, with a really heavy and
complex structure and top-notch critical lyricism.
Best songs: Holy Wars... the Punishment Due, Hangar 18, Lucretia and Take No Prisoners. | |

09.28.12 | That whole list encompasses like 10 bands. Nice. | PeteWentz
09.29.12 | Fall Out Boy | ThyCrossAwaits
09.29.12 | I immediately know someone's opinion is null when they attach hard rock to metal like they're one thing. | tempest--
09.29.12 | A lot of the same as usual, but always good. Hysteria is an interesting choice, and I love that Heep album. | tharikleo
09.29.12 | I didn't attach Hard Rock to Metal, i just quoted both genres so people don't bother me cuz i was making a Metal list with bands like Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Def Leppard included, that are Hard Rock bands with just some Metal elements. What's wrong with that?
Sorry about my English if there's something wrong spelled, English isn't my main language. Thank you. | tharikleo
09.29.12 | And just for a matter of fact, i was thinking about put some "non-or-less mainstream stuff" in that list but i was wondering, "why the fuck should i?", surely is important to support newcoming artists, the underground scene and some "underrated/underpopular" bands, but c'mon, i was talking about the best Hard Rock OR Heavy Metal albuns of all time in MY opinion, i would be a dick if i haven't mentioned huge names on the scene as Priest, Maiden, Megadeth, Metallica, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Purple, Slayer, Pantera and VH, and filled the list with wronged artists (that don't have even a half of the influence, importance and relevance that those on the list have) just because those bands are already "predictable names" for that kind of list.
Sorry if i'm being disrespectful but i'm tired with people that don't respect each others tastes and preferences.
By the way, this isn't for your Lloyd, i was typing this for a while. xD | evilford

10.01.12 | Good list. | ReturnToRock
10.01.12 | List needs Highway To Hell instead of Back In Black, and I'd put Angels Cry as the Angra entry, and British Steel for Priest. Good list otherwise, and you definitely chose my fav's for Maiden, Pantera (props!), Purple, Sabbath, Anthrax (more props!) and Metallica (more props!) | ReturnToRock
10.01.12 | I'm puzzled as to why #29 is on there though, it's supposed to be pretty bad. | tharikleo
10.02.12 | Temple of Shadows is far better than Angels Cry, the same thing with Holy Land. And about AC/DC, the top-notch Bon's era album is Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap in my opinion. | MeatSalad
10.02.12 | Fuck yeah 28 | tharikleo
10.02.12 | Atari85 yes, i know that i can edit it but i would need to fit Rising in it, and that would take a while. :D | tharikleo
10.02.12 | About British Steel, in my opinion the band have 5 superior albuns to this: Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin After Sin, Stained Class, Screaming for Vengeance and Painkiller. | ReturnToRock
10.02.12 | Noooo, haven't heard it, not really, maaaaybe and HELL NO.
Painkiller is the most overrated album this side of Back in Black. | tharikleo
10.02.12 | Metal Meltdown, Night Crawler, Hell Patrol, A Touch of Evil, Painkiller and Between the Hammer and the Anvil disagree with you. | JamieTwort
10.02.12 | "About British Steel, in my opinion the band have 5 superior albuns to this: Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin After Sin, Stained Class, Screaming for Vengeance and Painkiller."
