I rather liked Automatic. Hell, I was even surprised by how much I liked it because the couple of VNV Nation albums before it were really boring. Unfortunately, Automatic might have just been a fluke after all, since Transnational is VNV Nation going back to bland mode; perhaps even worse this time.

I adore VNV, but I don't find this album particularly memorable in the context of Ronan's other work. It's got a few bangers, like Primary and Retaliate, but Everything is formulaic (I like it, but it's formulaic) and I don't find the rest of it comes to memory quickly.
