Ain't That Good News features some of Sam's best songs, including "Good Times", and was recorded soon after the drowning death of his 18-month old son. The bittersweet agony in Sam's voice is palpable, yet this album sounds much more like a celebration of life than a mourning of its brevity. Ain't That Good News is the stuff of legend.
