Review Summary: Lil B has a theory of bitches, and he's not afraid to tell you about it with his 33rd mixtape Pink Flame

Lil B's mixtapes are kind of like those heart shaped boxes of sweets people give each other on Valentine's Day often called "gamble chocolates." Lil B's music is a lot like those chocolates: it's the risk/reward that makes it so much fun. Sifting through the subpar tracks on a Lil B tape to find the quality songs can sometimes be a chore, but it's usually worth it as Lil B's umpteenth mixtape Pink Flame has a lot of great tracks hidden in a mess of joke songs.

A guy named William Shakesman once said "Brevity is the soul of wit." The run time of 84 minutes split up over 26 tracks shows that Lil B has never heard this quote before. To use the word "overkill" to describe Pink Flame would be putting it lightly, as there are only about 10-12 really quality tracks on Pink Flame. The rest is kind of just there, and for every fantastic track like the lovely and sensual "Up To Bat," and the windows down system blower "Los Angeles Basegod," you get several tracks like "Ban The Weapons," "Love N Hate," and "Squirt" which are either not funny, or just boring. A lot of filler is to be expected with a Lil B mixtape, and if you have the patience to weed through the padding there are enough genuinely good tracks and enough laughs to warrant a few listens.

Half of the appeal of Lil B is laughing at the people who don't get him, but with this one I think even fans might struggle to comprehend its madness. Pink Flame is the kind of rap album that you lower the volume way down when you're on the bus and you don't want the black guy sitting across from you to think you're one of those white boy rap plebs. One look at the album cover and it's clear that Lil B is not a man of subtlety, Lil B lets loose and seems to spit out whatever is on his mind resulting in another entertaining and solid mixtape.

The major themes of Pink Flame seems to be how Lil B is a thug and lives the thug life, and about the bitches of course. From "1000 Bitches", to "Can't *** My Bitch," to "My Ex Bitch," Lil B covers every topic known to man about bitches, and he could certainly write a quality thesis on the topic. He even gets specific into the kind of bitches he likes in the hilarious "Twerk It Like That." Lil B often has conversations and interjections with himself on "Twerk It Like That" and other tracks which is always amusing. Lil B gets so hype on this record that he has to himself to come down in "Texas Thug." The sheer insanity presented on Pink Flame proves that Lil B is either a genius and a master thespian, or has just plain lost his mind. Either way it's highly entertaining.
