Fairly crappy review.

a really bad release for kylie... tried to catch the elctro pop popularity of the moment but missed the mark, most songs are poor and dont get the dance anthem vibe. the only standout on the album for me was sensitised.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there. I think it ranks up there among her best. "In My Arms" is amazing, as is "The One". But I do agree with you about "Sensitized"; it's definitely one of the better tracks.

Thank You, I stepped away from my track by track style and focused on the pros and cons of the album overall.

i have always liked her voice but never really looked in to her albums. i may check this out and some of her older albums. it is mandatory to hear her guest vocals on Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds song "Where the Wild Roses Grow"

This is an ok album to start but I would start with Impossible Princess and the Greatest Hits 1987-1997 then work my way up her records.

agree definitely not a starter album
|
| |
ill check out Impossible Princess. i dont like to start with a band on their greatest hits

I suggested because it has some of her better work from earlier albums (which could be too poppy for some)
|
| |
oh ok, thanks though. i may anyway if i dont want to spend too much time listening to all her albums

Nice review! I agree with your comments yet for some strange reason this album has really grown on me over the years and I like it much more now than I did when first released. Like you, I think I was expecting a bit more of a personal touch, but then she did pull out some surprises. I know Kylie had said she wanted the first single from this to be something completely different - and 'Two Hearts' most definitely is and I like it, but I so wish 'The One' had been the first single. That was a huge hit lost.

kylie isnt one for having consistently AMAZING albums like Madonna, but shes just queen idk, when shes good shes great, and shes good most of the time

true, kylie's pretty consistent in delivering listenable stuff, I'd say. Madge has, especially as of recent, a whole bunch of real clunkers.

I listened to The One so much, love that song. There were multiple great songs here, but haven't revisited this album in years.
