4.5 superb | Robinanimate | December 1st 23 | Ten years later and this album still keeps growing on me. Of course, it deserves a better rating. There?s not a bad song in sight, only timeless tunes that have proven to stand the test of time. Too bad they didn?t deliver the same level of excellence on the subsequent releases.

3.5 great | Antonius | June 20th 20 | I fell onto this album accidentally in my quest to find the next female-fronted-psych-occult rock band. Through their debut, Jess and the Ancient Ones exhibit prudence, diligence and a mature approach as to the path they want to follow musically. Jess is confident and with her mighty voice binds sturdily the pummelling riffing stemming from the guitar triplet and the powerful rhythmic sections from the bass/drum duet. Recommendations: "Sulphur Giants", "Prayer for Death and Fire", "The Devil (in G minor)".
