Review Summary: Fuck you insurrection.

Insurrection is a ***ing dingo. That is it and there is no questions about it. Born Hanged slams. It djuns, and it slams and djuns hard. If you even remotely disagree then you can find me creeping through your window in the midst of night, katana unsheathed and with my full chakra exposed. That includes you, Insurrection. Be wary. Be fearful. Maintain awareness, for I will come.

Born Hanged is an enjoyable but somewhat flawed doom- deathcore ep. In it's focus to become incredibly heavy it loses a certain amount of musical focus that would be vastly improved upon on the best album ever made Nadir (see my Nadir review for more lesson on slam and djun). Anyways I rate this album a good but flawed/10.

PSA- that was a filler paragraph and not remotely important in any way shape or form.

I agree with Insurrection here.

This EP literally made me hate the trend of every fucking band going lower and lower.

Well, the fact that I heard a Caliban song in Drop A back in 2013-2014 didn't help matters given their past, but I eventually got over it with them.

Beatdown/downtempo/whateverthefuck was always a terrible movement that never once attempted to be more than the very simple sum of its parts. Basically stripped down formulaic deathcore to the bare minimum and sold it to the "itz so heavy dood!" crowd that'll eat anything tuned low with a thumpin' bass. Bonus points if you get in the weightlifting crowd.

lmao yeah, I mostly hate the EP for what it did to my perception of low tunings.

Back when I frequented a plug.dj -core room, beatdown become completely unavoidable when bands like Traitors rose in prominence. It got absolutely ear-grating after not even a week; literally none of the acts I have heard from the 'genre' have ever tried to distinguish themselves or improve their output. Just by-the-numbers, the same mentality that killed many a -core genre.

Yeah... I'd honestly rather a hundred AILD clones than a hundred Black Tongue clones, because at least the AILD clones would have to try to write riffs.

I think this is on the wayside though. I forget the last time I heard much buzz around the people that started/got popular in the scene. If nothing else, it's left the mainstream, and so much the better.

Drop G is nothing. My 8 string goes to the E an octave below the 6th string E
