I like the bunch of letters in those words.

I am reading the Billions and Billions collection of Carl Sagan thoughts/essays again, I enjoy clarity of thought and good nature these days.

I got the app on my phone. The new SputBooks app is great. I have access to all of Jeremy Ferwerda's new releases. I can navigate to an easy access home screen where I can access my library of e-books. And best of all, it doesn't exist because Sputnik Forums does not exist, I invented them.

Mortimer

What do you think about Huxley's famous response to a book of Orwell?

if youre talking about brave new world i think its a good book but i havent read it more than once. i did read Island, as well as Heaven and hell and the doors of perception by Huxley last year though, and enjoyd them immensley, Island especially because it delved into eastern mysticism and philosophy, something i know little about. I will say that i think Brave New World is perhaps more accurate than 1984, as if dystopia is coming it will be because we didnt care and let it happened rather than some forceful authoritarian nightmare. Fahrenheit 451 is also more accurate in that regard.

I am actually writing an essay at the moment for my Philosophy and Literature module which is going to draw on Huxley's thoughts on perception, drugs and the ineffable a tad.

i gave up on Rameau's Nephew by Diderot cos it was boring the tits off me. Reading The Periodic Table by Primo Levi instead.

My course reading has really overtaken any other reading right now which is a shame but there's really nothing I can do about it. When I have a free schedule I'm going to dig deeper into Murakami's stuff.

I have read a lot this year (by my standards), about 50 books. Currently I'm reading:

Astonishingly well written collection of (real) stories from russia. He's really quiet a writer. They flow together quiet nicely as well and it's changing the way I look at all the russia memes.
