I like In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Arch Enemy, Soilwork, The Absence, Darkest Hour, Kalmah, Children Of Bodom, and some others that I can't remember.

I think they mean that if we go into sub genre's for threads then later it goes to sub sub genre's and it never ends.

I don't know any melo-death bands.

People are melodic death metal bands, so I guess I can name some of them:

Arghoslent, Autumn Leaves, In Flames, and that one song by Arsis.

EDIT: And Kalmah and Children of Bodom are power metal.
