What is your music program and data size?

What do you guys use? iTunes, Spotify, Winamp? How big are your databases of music too?

I just recently downloaded MusicBee and I'm shocked at how customizable and fast it is. I keep a varied FLAC and mp3 database as I'm pushing towards FLAC more so its nice to be able to play them all together, and for that reason I will never go back to iTunes. So far I'm at around 200GBs, 12,133 files, 34 days

I have a desktop computer with a 500 GB HDD that is full of storage because it's mainly music, I have a lot of special edition CD's though which take up a lot of space. I used foobar2000 because it was simple and never crashed but I don't even download music anymore unless I want it for my Phone because it's such a hassle and so much easier just to stream it.

I use itunes, but lately I've been lazy and just listen to spotify to jam stuff I don't have. I think I have 20,000 songs in my library

I've got music spread out all over the place but no more than 1,500-2,000 songs much of it I've never listened to.

I use google play music

and I don't know how much music I have on there. it's all cloud based after it's uploaded and I rarely keep it on the computer that uploaded it. it's like 2040 songs right now, which isn't a lot

I only use VLC player for media files, but now that I've found good DLNA server for my TV in my room, I don't have to use it often

if I'm cooking and trying to watch a show. That's about it

plus, it will cache it on your computer which is good if you listen to the same albums frequently

Why would I do that when I have Winamp?

Why would I make more work to listen to music when it's fine the way it is?

Why ask why? Try bud dry.

because it's 2015 and you have more than one device that might want to listen to your music on?

I don't have that problem. I have my playlists on my phone that I use for work/car.

Why the fuck would I give google my music? They already own almost everything and they ruined youtube with shit ads. What's next?

"Hey, can you grab me a beer from the Google fridge bro?"

"Naw, WiFi is down"

Fuck google.

how the fuck is having to make playlists and transfer the music to your phone manually better than just storing it all in the cloud in the first place and never having to think about it

Seriously. Why would I upload 360 gb of music on a server that requires Internet access to listen? That sounds like more work and an inconvenience and just plain fucking stupid. I like to listen to my shit without the aid of something unnecessary like Cloud.

"Damn I wanna listen to my music but the Internet is down."

Stupid.

(a) it syncs your files in the background, just pick the folder once and forget about it

(b) you've already been told that it caches on the device if you want it to

(c) i can't remember the last time my internet was down. let alone both my wired and cellular at the same time. step 1 get a job, step 2 buy decent internet, step 3 enjoy modern technology.

(d) fuck off, dad, you're not cool
