True, it took mesome time to fully appreciate it.
If the mechanical sound is what sets you back, you should try their debut album: Contradicitions Collapse.
Way more straight forward thrash metal, but with somenice technical, Meshuggah like twists.

EDIT: Raah, I hate the space bar on my laptop.

Meshuggah is good for a few listens every once and a while. But they really aren't one of those bands where I can just listen to them song after song.

Well, everything except Catch 33.
I mean ,with such a great drummer and then programmed drums, I can't take that.

Nothing is my favorite btw.
Catch 33 is my favorite Meshuggah album.

Nothing is probably next though.

I can only listen to about 5 minutes of Meshuggah at a time, but for those 5 minutes it's like all glory.

Needless to say it takes me a good four days to finish listening to I.

This is the most accurate description i've ever read. It's exactly why I like them.

I can't stand Meshuggah, they are soooo freaking talented but their sound is awful.

I can't really listen to a whole Meshuggah album straight through, but I is the exception. Don't know exactly what it is, but it just clicks with me.

I've never really bothered with Meshuggah. A friend of mine was really into them back in High School but I never really dug it.

I actually like Nevermore. I only have their new CD, This Godless Endeavor, but it's pretty good. I can't find much wrong with them unless the vocals aren't really your thing. Still, there are many worse voices out there.

They've changed so much man, the new album is horrible..Finisterra was good, La Leyenda de la Mancha was outstanding and Mago De Oz (first album) is also incredible...but meh, I don't listen to them anymore tbqh, I've grown out of them. I give Satania and El Santo Grial a spin from time to time though

What about Scar Symmetry. They're mostly melo-death, but they definitely have some progressive elements I think. Lately, I've been on a serious binge with them.

Guess I'm just of a differing opinion cause I don't find them boring or mediocre at all. I really think the singer is top notch.

I was blasting it at work the other day. I love the violin and the guitar harmonizing each other.

You should watch their DVD, it's really good. I almost piss myself laughing at the end where the "super polla" (A big dick with a superman outfit) comes out into the public and starts dancing
