Reason 6.5 (essentials). The new version has seamlessly made the leap from midi programmer to full on DAW. Now reason can record audio in real time and it also has it's own set of user and industry built "rack extensions" which are basically VSTs.
I sound like an advertisement for it because i've used reason for almost 8 years now and it's finally in the big leagues as far as production capabilities go. It's always been the most creative, right brained production DAW due to the ability to route instruments and effects to CV (control voltages) and then to other instruments or filters.
