What gear to buy next?
Here's what I've got:
Maxon OD808 Overdrive Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor Boss TU-3 Chromatic Tuner I have a Jackson SL4 with EMG 81 and 85 One thing I'm missing that a lot of players have in their rig is a compressor pedal and my reviews and study of popular musicians effects pedals show that the Maxon CP-9+ is really good, possibly the best out there. I've never used a compressor pedal and don't want to just buy one because other people use them and say you need one. I'd like to try one out first but I'd like to at least see what people here have to say about them. |
I think one thing I could do is get my acoustic-electric fixed. The pickup in it broke I think so I need to get that taken out and looked at and see if it needs to be replaced. Now I almost never would plug it in, except maybe once in every five years or something, but at least to know if I wanted to plug it in and play then it's playable.

I actually want another SL4. They're such fucking great guitars. But if I get one I want to put it in E as opposed to drop C which my SL4 is now in. I actually think the guitar tonewise sounds much better in a standard tuning than a drop tuning so if I do buy another SL4 and put it in E, that might give me the evidence I need to put my old SL4 into D and then I will need a dedicated drop C guitar. At this point, I have no idea what it would be so for the foreseeable future my SL4 will be in drop C.

It means you have purchased Mason but I think it is better for country guitarists. Actually, I am looking for a rock overdrive pedal and found MXR Timmy Overdrive Mini Pedal as a good option here https://www.happynewguitarday.com/best-overdrive-pedal/ for rock guitarists. It is not a cheap option for me but also easy to carry and I am just hoping it would be a good buying experience.
However, it sounds great that you have purchased tuner and suppressor bass pedals and they would really help you to make better music. Though many bass pedals could be your next purchase but I would recommend you to go with a phaser. Actually, I am also looking to get a bass phaser pedal and exploring about them from here https://www.sound-beat.com/bass-pedals-effects/phaser/. The primary purpose of getting this gear is to mould my sound regardless of the musical timeline. In the beginning, I was only thinking to use them for neat sound effect but now, I am also looking for speed control and other simulation effects. Let's see is it really transform my modern music into something very unusual. By the way, with some guitar-related accessories, I am also considering piano stuff. In this regard, I decided to buy this https://pianoopedia.com/yamaha-mx49-review/ Yamaha MX49 synthesizer. I think it would be a great pick to produce creative music. It also offers complete analogue and digital connectivity with VCM effects. Hopefully, it would be a good venture. |
