I feel like reviewing the self titled Blink 182 album. Would my comments be helpful or just unnessecary?
Do it, I say, I'd like more opinions on it.

br3ad_man 01-07-2005 07:31 AM

It's going to be so biased :p

Humorous. I already own it though. :shame:

Bartender 01-07-2005 11:57 AM

EPs are certainly allowed, as long as they're not actually just singles. If that's the Some Kind of Monster EP you're talking about though, it's already been done.

cbmartinez 01-07-2005 04:41 PM

Maybe, though I prefer non-song by songs. As of right now, my review most likely isn't goign to be a positive one. I'm just not impressed with the album.

Grateful Undead starring Jerry 01-07-2005 06:36 PM

Please someone do Zaireeka by the Flaming Lips.

el doctor 01-07-2005 09:46 PM

I'd possibly do a review of Zaireeka, although I'd need to start experimenting with it again before I could review it.

8-Track Punk 01-07-2005 10:19 PM

I call dibs on Jamie Cullum's "twentysomething" and Orthrelm's "Norildivoth Crallos-Lomrixth Urthiln." (Apparently, I have a wide taste of music.)

Tangy zizzle 01-07-2005 10:44 PM

You don't.

Aren't they all played simultaneously?

br3ad_man 01-08-2005 01:23 AM

You can play one cd, two cds, three cds or four cds. And no two times you play the album can it be the same. I have ones on my computer that are just all four discs mixed, but you can't really experience the album unless you have all 4 discs seperate.

 you're so blunt

Why not?

LordDargon 01-08-2005 02:06 PM

I'm wondering whether I should do a review of a certain album. It's a classic, but it's also very underground, and I don't want all these fanboys finding out about it. I probably sound like a total elitist here, but there are some things that just need to stay underground...

EDIT: It's sort of like a 'proving album', for example, if you just say you're into thrash metal, other thrashers might not take you seriously. But if you drop the name 'Darkness Descends' you're going to get instant respect. And if you drop this album, you're going to get instant massive respect. So that's why I don't want just any turd finding out about it.

I think I just answered my own question now...

blueyxd 01-08-2005 07:12 PM

so... let fanboys be fanboys, and let the people who might truly like it have a chance. Someone else is going to find out sooner or later, so your "protection" of them is really not worth your effort.

The fact that you are thinking about reviewing the album anyway should be enough of a reason for you to do it.

br3ad_man 01-08-2005 07:16 PM
Why not?
Because it's impossible to get them all to play at exactly the same time as each other. Then add things like difference in volumes, quality of speakers, the position the listener is standing, etc and you have a completely unique experience every time. Of course, you could just mix them on a computer, but wheres the fun in that?

Dancin' Man 01-08-2005 10:02 PM

I have to revoke the Winds album. I got halfway through and realized I had said hardly anything worth reading. Plus Per Ardua did a great job on the better album so buy that one anyway. I do have somehting else in mind though. No Katatonia has been done yet so I'll do Viva Emptiness, because it's just that cool.

el doctor 01-08-2005 10:58 PM
Of course, you could just mix them on a computer, but wheres the fun in that?
It really does ruin the fun. By mixing them on the computer, you're getting it in the complete and perfect for. By using the different CDs though, you're given the power to disassemble the music and put it back together as you please. Sort of like how Yankee Hotel Foxtrot was made. ;)

The Beulah review should be coming tomorrow, and then I'll start Zaireeka.

Does anyone feel like reviewing something by Ella Fitzgerald? Preferably the 1960 live in Berlin one (Ella In Berlin, I think it's called).

morrissey 01-09-2005 03:04 AM

I would be interesting in seeing a review of Autobiography by Ashlee Simpson, just for curiosity's sake. I doubt anyone will ever get around to it, but I'll put a request in for fun.

Undibbing T. Rex, cause I just don't wanna do it. I'm working on Oscar Peterson Trio Plus One right now.

My first review in months is now up. It feels good to be back, and I expect much unwarrented praise for it.
