i will see them on 19.11.2006 - so in 1 1/2 weeks

right now i listen to Tool - no Quarter (Led zep cover) and before i listend to Apocalyptica - Schism (tool cover); both are sooo great.

but what i want to ask: What songs can i expect being played on the show? how is the show? the "movies" in the background and so on..

TojesDolan 11-08-2006 06:07 PM

Expect Alex Grey material. The material in most Lateralus tour by Grey seemed awesome.

repcak 11-08-2006 06:08 PM

who is alex grey?

Txus 11-08-2006 06:11 PM

The most awesome dude ever, He is the one who makes tools artwork.

repcak 11-08-2006 06:14 PM

oh... so he is behind this... i always thought Adam Jones is doing it

Insipid2000 11-08-2006 06:15 PM

Keep this thread up and running I was starting to miss the Tool thread.

Sleepy 11-08-2006 06:17 PM

Yeah, we need a Tool thread since the R&Mocaust wiped out the last one.

I want to see Tool. :( I haven't had a chance yet. I missed them when they came to Vegas in September.

Txus 11-08-2006 06:19 PM

Tool live is like the most orgasmic thing eva!

repcak 11-08-2006 06:19 PM

Sleepy 11-08-2006 06:20 PM
Tool live is like the most orgasmic thing eva!
Stop making me so goddamned jealous. I haven't hit a show in the longest time and I'm just dying to go to one.

Txus 11-08-2006 06:22 PM

Haha, sorry man.
and does anyone of you know some recent set-/songlists?
I don't have a clue what they are playing in this tour :(

Sleepy 11-08-2006 06:23 PM

Yeah. I know they played the entire 10,00 Days Part 1 and 2 live in Los Angeles when they were touring, maybe some Euro city will be lucky enough to catch that as well.

repcak 11-08-2006 06:25 PM

yeah, i'm curious... but too bad i won't post what they will play on my show, cause i always forget the name of the songs during a show :(

Txus 11-08-2006 06:26 PM

I really want to learn The Pot on bass.

Sleepy 11-08-2006 06:26 PM

Insipid2000 11-08-2006 06:31 PM

That sounds cool on bass.

Txus 11-08-2006 06:32 PM

Sleepy 11-08-2006 06:35 PM
I already have the intro down :D
Yeah, it's nothing spectacularly hard. The timing is the only *slightly* difficult part.

Justin Chancellor is such a cool bass player and you can really hear his talent come through in songs like:

Disposition
Schism
The Pot
Lateralus
Reflection
Aenema
Third Eye
Forty Six & 2
etc.

magicbus 11-08-2006 06:38 PM

Here's what the setlist might look like:

Stinkfist (Extended)
The Pot
46 & 2
Jambi
Schism (Extended)
Lost Keys
Rosetta Stoned
Sober
Lateralus
Vicarious (w/Intro)
Aenima

That was from a show in August, and from what I've heard they've been mostly sticking to the same songs. It's possible that they would switch a few older ones out, but who knows.

I love his style. Not too gaudy, but still extremely complex. He always cranks out something groovy.

Great list there. The bolded songs, I already know :)

I really want to learn Reflection since it's becoming my favorite Tool song ever.

Stoo 11-08-2006 06:44 PM

I'm seeing them on the 25th. :)

The only hard thing about Reflection is having the patience and stamina to repeat the same thing for a million hours.

Txus 11-08-2006 06:53 PM

Hah, I know. I'm going to practice it later but first I have to learn the songs that my band wants to play next which I haven't practiced at all :(

Kage 11-08-2006 06:55 PM

You better get on that then! :p

Txus 11-08-2006 06:56 PM

After watching David Lynch "Filmography", I will :)

Kage 11-08-2006 06:56 PM

Well, that takes priority, obviously.
