Yeah, I used to use Audition before I got my Mac, and thought it was a great program. Really easy to use.

gaslight 05-07-2009 10:15 AM

I'm getting a Presonus Audiobox in the next week, comes with Cubase LE 4 bundled, I'll let you know if it's good.

fatbandit 05-07-2009 10:21 AM

I used to use Cool Edit Pro, so I reckon I could use Audition.

But I wouldn't mind MIDI capabilities.

gaslight 05-07-2009 10:25 AM

Ableton is pretty good for midi.

fatbandit 05-07-2009 10:38 AM

Did you used to have exploding dog avatars, gaslight?

Audition may not be the way to go, then. It has ReWire options, but I don't know enough about midi to know anything more than that.

gaslight 05-07-2009 10:47 AM
Did you used to have exploding dog avatars, gaslight?
Yeah mate I probably had a few of those in my day.

Sablate McNuff 05-07-2009 12:31 PM

Well, I'm fairly certain I'm going to quit my job and take out disgustingly large student loans so that I can get back on track with my education.

:upset:

I'm going to miss the income and complete frivolity.

burtonbassist_102 05-07-2009 12:37 PM

how'd you come to that conclusion?

By completely failing my non-euclidean geometry class (basically throwing away $1300), and I'm on the verge of failing my physics class.

10 credit hours + 50 (or more) hours of work every week = suffering grades.

Hmmm. Are you sure you aren't from another forum? Can't say that I remember either of those usernames.

Omg, I'm such a math nerd (in lieu of the class I just failed).

I thought you wrote ARCTANgel.

Haha.

EADGCF 05-07-2009 04:07 PM
Can't help you much on the software front because I use GarageBand, but I've got an M-Audio MobilePre that works decently, and it's not particularly expensive. Agreed on not using converters... I need to get a cable with 1/4 on one end, and 1/8 on the other, so I can run my laptop through my amp.
Can't you use your M-Audio out to do that?

BenJammin 05-07-2009 04:18 PM
Can't you use your M-Audio out to do that?
Yeah, but I can't get Reason to recognize it.
im sorry, but is your first attempt??
Yes sir, first ever! not too shabby huh? i admit it can improve greatly though.

Wait, he played bass too?

Is this some giant Bass Forum gag that I wasn't let in on?
Yes sir, first ever! not too shabby huh? i admit it can improve greatly though.
umm this is laughable at best

i had to turn it off 20 seconds in because i was so embarrassed for you

jamey said it best on AIM: "its like, lowsound embarrassing"

i recommend taking them down immediately. its terrible in every way. =/ horrible delivery, awful production, cringe-inducing lyrics and generic, uninspired sounding "beats"

i'd give it a 1.5/10

EDIT: unless its a joke

in which case, good job

Moon Flavor 05-07-2009 06:25 PM

and your music is a joke

BenJammin 05-07-2009 06:26 PM

Yeah, that music was fucking awful.

Wtf was with the blast beats? Jesus that was bad.

Sablate McNuff 05-07-2009 06:46 PM

Blast Beats 4 lyf3
Yeah, but I can't get Reason to recognize it.
There should be a way to get that happening. Go to:

Edit - Preferences - Audio - Audio Card Driver

my interface shows up from the list of drivers. I don't see why yours wouldn't.

If that doesn't work, maybe Re-Wire Reason through another software and see if that does it.

BenJammin 05-07-2009 07:26 PM

Hmm, maybe. I'll check it later. Can't be bothered to go dig up my interface atm.

EADGCF 05-07-2009 07:41 PM

I'm pumping some Raayl at the moment.

BenJammin 05-07-2009 07:48 PM

I'm listening to Godspeed.

EADGCF 05-07-2009 07:55 PM

I could never get into Godspeed, although I love the whole post-rock thing. Still need to give them another chance. Sigur ros too. Multiple chances. Bleh.

Moon Flavor 05-07-2009 07:58 PM

Godspeed is boring. Sigur Ros is cool for tripping or falling asleep.

Listen to Yndi Halda or Caspian instead.

I just bought Sigur Ros' last album, whatever it was called. Really good, although different from their other stuff.

If you like more guitar-based post-rock (I know you like DMST and EitS), you should try Mono, especially their last release "Hymn to the Immortal Wind." It's easily sitting as one of my top album of this year so far.

Moon Flavor 05-07-2009 08:00 PM

Guys look into 3nd they're seriously the best band that could possibly be construed post-rock ever

Song titles of what? Mono?

I dunno, just get the whole album.

EADGCF 05-07-2009 08:09 PM

This better be good.

BenJammin 05-07-2009 08:22 PM

I downloaded the program and the other thingy that I have to download to make it work, but it wants me to restart and I'm too lazy for that right now.

Sablate McNuff 05-07-2009 08:25 PM

wtf? restart?

no way, not worth it.
