took about 3-4 weeks working on it every few days, probably about 50$ in supplies.

Looks all right. Not a fan of the headstock, though, and the pickguard is too large; too much black with it.

Also, for that style of painting, I would have went for smooth, crisp lines for the diagonal stripes, but that's just me.

You're missing a tuning key.

I like the headstock.

Dunno about the body, would like to see a crisper racing stripe and the pickguard black spot is a touch too generously endowed.

Looks fine to me, more unique.

It looks okay. The paint job looks sloppy as hell on the lines, though.

Man when I first looked at it I thought the white around the pick guard was light, shine on black paint. Or the reflection from camera flash. So what I thought was black kind of metallic paint, is actually white :( Which I think would've looked awesome.

But apart from that I think it's still hawt.

yes, it's missing a tuning key ... i have a replacement, but don't have the means to install it at this point in time. so for now i've gotta tune it with a screwdriver, which is just a touch annoying, haha.

regarding the stripes, i made them that way on purpose ... for a bit more of a home-made look, with character. i know its cliche ... but it looks a lot better in person :)

I don't care for the white/maple look. Just my preference.

Crisper lines (possibly curving to match the pickguard a bit?) and a lime green + black paint would have been shecksy.

Paint job looks decent though, on the whole. Did you touch the back of the neck at all?

i did the back of the headstock, but nothing to the back of the neck.


just replaced the strings and fixed a grounding issue, and it sounds pretty damn good.

i had my first band practice with this bass. it doesnt sound any worse than my MIM Jazz with DiMarzio J's ... i actually quite like the tone. and i'm already slipping that low B string into songs of ours ... it's pretty awesome.
