Try Barn Owl, they actually have some of the shortest songs in drone so I recommend them to newbs.

yeah Paik's pretty good I think I whored them in the Post-rock thread last year. Been listening to a lot of Nadja lately. Was pretty impressed with their live performance.

Nadja and Aidan Baker's work in general is always a fine listen, been diggin Windy & Carl's newest lately here

Quickspace made some great drone-pop.

i have a quickspace album but havent given it a fair listen yet really, should change that

just heard Bedroom's Solipsist prob one of the better drone tapes ive heard from 2012

the gentlemen's butcher is some great chilling/sleeping drone

could be my misinterpretation...they hover about a lo-fi aesthetic but it's the content and progression of their songs that I'd say is drone. Most songs only have a basic motif that gets layered with ornaments in an almost kraut-rock way.

i can see the throw-back to kraut-rock

lets settle on saying their 2nd cousins with drone

certainly a band that's looking after their popular influences....I consider many types of musics as drawing into popular influence...its a dualistic system of experimentalism/abandon or cohesiveness/popular influence.
