obscuremo
ok so the skramz thread was bound to fail, so here's just a thread where you namedrop obscure emo bands. there are a hell of a lot to pick from - so hit me. I want new bands. preferably with mediafire links, heh. if the band has released more than like... one or two tracks on obscure compilations/splits - BIG BONUS! :thumb:

Kids from In Confidence (not very good at all, really arrogant too) and the one dude from Storm The Bastille. http://www.myspace.com/nostramonte Kids from In Confidence, a lot better than In Confidence. |

Why not?

god i used to know so many obscure emo bands... now every emo band feels obscure...
idk. nobody ever talks about embassy, or admiral... i have an emo 7" by cedars of lebanon that is really obscure. union young america i remember really liking in terms of Obscure Emo... i dunno. this stuff is ok |
also i remember being really happy when i got a copy of the salvo rain lp
looking back i think it's funny that i was into most of this stuff. i guess a lot of it still is pretty good but like i'd much rather listen to boys life or christie front drive or even jimmy eat world ... |
also christopher robin
|
and i'd say check out broken hearts are blue and this kukim video

Embassy was the only one of these bands streamable on last.fm, so I won't be listening to any of the others right now - but thanks for the suggestions! will google for mediafire links or whatever.

no less of you are being morons in this thread, so it's actually a worthwile thread. |

HOW IN ANY WAY IS THIS A WORTHWHILE THREAD. all you're doing is building upon the pretentiousness of a genre by making multiple threads with insignificantly small differences only to name some bands that you think are cool. granted, forums are a place to find new music, but this is ridiculous. there are so many more worthwhile topics, and your just flooding the boards with your garbage.
what has been said of merit in here so far? there is no conversation, just dialect spoken in list form, with no possible response other than through congratulatory e-high fives. |

please look at the number of legit serious responses.
also, i don't know how hard you try to find bands but a lot of the ones that have been mentioned that you claim to not know about are generally known to someone who listens to that style of music. reach out were one of the first band i heard of, i think maybe you should try to search for bands a little harder. the internet has a **** ton of information and christ you live in europe, there's all kinds of screamo bands out there that i'm sure no one has heard of. but if you're interested here are some bands that are current and deserve support: the black heart rebellion storm the bastille mohoram atta tentacle's a flower touche amore (not strictly screamo, lot of hc influence, but this band slays) sanctions |

You know, I always felt kind of bad for making fun of you because you get so much **** already, but since you think I'm a stupid c'unt, let's be honest. You create thread after thread where the same people recite the same responses, either seriously or out of desperation to see you're discussions wiped clean from the internet. You get lists of bands that you'll download music by, listen through once or twice, and grasp only the most basic understanding of the bands' musical ventures. But it doesn't matter, because in the end your music library will sky rocket and your tight-jean/swooshed-hair points will jump up a few notches. This isn't hearsay, this can be proven. Look at your posts about music on your cute little blog where you discuss the ignorant communistic idea that music falls under a freedom of information clause for the world's governments. Your thoughts on music (on your blog) read like a conversation that you're having that you haven't quite been able to understand yet. "This sounds like Envy... but a little more French, you know... kind of like this... but it's really like this," and you'll go on to equate things to other things because you have no other possible comprehensive ability to understand what the music actually sounds like. and "(insert band name here) doesn't have vocals, but that doesn't mean they have no voice"... let's be honest, you don't understand how to describe music. Your prose reeks of a naivety towards punk (and it's many sub-genres) that you're unwilling to accept. Learn what you have. Further than knowledge by your own research (the internet is a huge place), and then from their you can find your obscuremo. Jesus Christ, you seem like an okay kid. But shut the f'uck up every once and a while. You've come a far way from the pestering indietrash, but now it just feels like you're looking for acceptance simply by knowing all that there is to know. |
This is a dumb thread.

I don't even get the point of it.
