Alright guys and gals.....this should be the last one, unless admin gets antsy about the size of it down the road. Please be civil, treat each other with respect, and welcome new folks. Go!
|

First page!
Liking the new layout. |
yeah yeah first page but i agree with the title thing
|
1st page :P
|
Dilemma!
Autechre and Mike Patton are playing on the same day in march Yellowjackets and Amon Tobin are playing on a different day in march. Making choices = not cool. Obligatory "1st page" |
Need to grab a shower pretty soon. I think I finished the drums for a newer song of mine just now (recording I mean.) Good stuff I hopes.
|
razor can you only go to one show?
are the yellowjackets and amon tobin playing on the same day? |
In before uncivilized discussion.
|
for the first date..mike patton i say
|
Supp kids.
Where'd everybody go? :| I come back after 12 hours and half the forums banned. |
I tried my teachers 3 kits today.
He has a Starclassic Maple, a Premier Signia maple, and a Yamaha Custom Maple. I played all 3, and this is the order I think they sounded best. Premier Signia. These drums sound huge. The toms were 10", 12", and 14". Sounded like I was playing something with 14, 16 and 18" toms. And the snare drum sounded beautiful. Tama Starclassic maple: The thin shells, and one ply heads make this sound like thunder. Sizes: 8x8, 10x9, 12x10, 14x12, 16x14. The 16x14 had a G2 over a G1, and we tuned it right down, and then got it to the lowest note possible. That thing made a massive sound. The Yamaha: I wasn't really impressed by the Yamaha. The shells were very thick compared to the starclassic, and finish was very flat and uninteresting. Suberp sounding kit, but I wouldn't buy one over the starclassic. And this isn't me being a brand whore. This is what I heard with my own two ears. |
Hmmm. Strange, as i've played the tama and yamaha kits and far prefered the yammie
|
That's a nice 3 kits for anyone to have, either way!
|
Different ears I guess. The Yamaha is a nice sound kit, don't get me wrong, but IMO, the starclassic is nicer. I personally think it's down to the fact the shell were about twice as thin on the Tama, but meh, might of just been a coincidence of tuning etc etc.
|
Oliv. Horses, courses mate ;)
Personally if i could have any 3 kits i'd take a Mapex Orion, Sonor Designer and Pearl Masters Custom. |
Mmm Sonor Designer. If only :(
|
Yeah. I'm getting the birch version soon. Better sound than the maple IMO.
EDIT: I know phil i was only saying that my experiance was different, but as manic said could have been tuning etc |
I might take pics of my mini-kit later.
Thinking of adding some bell/trash hats between the rack tom and hats. |
Nice. shud be good.
|
razor can you only go to one show?
are the yellowjackets and amon tobin playing on the same day?
Only one a day, because they're in different cities :S Yellowjackets and amon tobin are the same day, yeah |
YAY! no more mixing with headphones!
The wires are too short on the speakers atm but I'm gonna be extending them soon to have them l and r. |

|
Why has everyone been under the wrath of the banhammer?
|
just three people...because they spammed the problem reporting thread...but i disagree with fuzzy's ban...if fuzzy got banned i should have too.
|
That is a nice thing of you to say, though I wouldn't want more unnecessary bannings.
Man this home-recorded album is kickass. I hope I get somewhere with this. |
There's this one old woman who is always at Dollar General every time I go, and she always manages to get in line before me.
She likes to have conversations with the clerk while she's getting her money, but she can't focus on the money while she's talking, so eventually the clerk just has to take her change purse, because she seriously pays in change, and get the money out for her. Then, after all is said and done, she has to laboriously thank the clerk and talk some more, holding the entire line up, before she leaves. It took me 20 minutes to buy a liter of soda. =/ |

XD Dude that'd be tight.
At this point in time I don't have money to press the CDs professionally, but I'm going to start saving for that soon. Does anyone know of a good US-Based place that does that? If so, tell meh! So currently when I "release" the CDs, they will be burned CDs with either labels or custom artwork by moi. |
not sure of any places at all...especially not in the US unfortunately.
