Iron Maiden

All right, all of you fans.
Why the hell are there so many Iron Maiden threads in here.
This will be the official IM thread, so post in here.

RockerGav 11-24-2003 03:12 PM

*makes bed*

I don't think I'll ever leave.

What are your opinions on Dance of Death?

And does anyone have a setlist for the DoD tour? *Is going*

sensitiveorgan00 11-24-2003 03:24 PM

*Wants to go*

wyldechild71 11-24-2003 03:26 PM

I think DOD is an amazing cd, and they havent lost their touch. The melodies are very well written, and IMO this cd has some of their most powerful songs yet. My fav has to be Rainmaker or Dance Of Death, and I can listen to the whole cd without skipping a track. Awesome guitar work on here too, they havent "evolved" with nu metal(no Im not ripping on it, Im saying they still do leads).

Big thumbs up for me. :thumb:

PS: I duno the setlist, only playing 2 shows in the states :( but I went to Give Me 'Ed til Im Dead tour, amazing ****.

superpeer 11-24-2003 03:27 PM

Is this an 'only fans' thread or is criticism allowed?

HondoII 11-24-2003 06:35 PM

my opinion:

IRON MAIDEN > ALL OTHERS

i will be attending the two LA shows with quite a few members of the IRON MAIDEN board. DOD is awesome. 4.5/5

FrailandBedazzled1979 11-24-2003 06:35 PM

Only fans:angry:

haha, just kiddin.

AntiPop356 11-24-2003 06:53 PM

Man, everyone ripping off the Death Heads fourm and making these "official" threads...  anyways, what can I say? Iron Maiden is, IMO, the DEFINITIVE metal band. Really. I still have yet to see any band do the guitar harmonizing thing better and you just can't step to Harris's basslines. Maiden rules, period.

And I REALLY need to see one of their shows before I die...

sensitiveorgan00 11-24-2003 06:54 PM

^ Same here. I can't believe I missed the show when they were playing at Madison (NYC) a few months ago. :upset:

HondoII 11-24-2003 06:56 PM

well there will be 4 maiden shows this january so dont miss em!

sensitiveorgan00 11-24-2003 07:00 PM

Kirk's Puppet 11-24-2003 08:37 PM

I love Dance of Death, first Maiden CD. I don't know much about the Maidens but they rule!!

sensitiveorgan00 11-24-2003 08:48 PM

Cool, thanks. I appreciate it. Now I hope to buy tickets when they're on sale.

FrailandBedazzled1979 11-24-2003 09:34 PM

I drove 6 hours to see them for the second time, but New York nad LA are a bit to far of a drive from St.Louis, Chicago was do-able. lol.

OpiateForTheMasses 11-24-2003 10:30 PM

I listen to mainly death metal like Cryptopsy, Nile, Skinless, In Flames, Fear Factory, Psychotogen and Soilwork. I wanna hear some Iron Maiden songs, but I dont know many. Can you recommend some?

I've heard:
Number of the Beast
Run to the Hills
Rainmaker

jadedS.B.CA21 11-24-2003 10:52 PM

Whats their best CD? I want to buy one.

toolboy84 11-25-2003 02:46 AM

You should get Powerslave. I'm listening to The Duellists right now.

I can't wait for december 3rd and 6th. I'm seeing them in Newcastle and Sheffield.

forever autumn 11-25-2003 03:23 AM

iron maiden was what got me to pick up guitar...i thought dance of death was a good album and i was happy that their still going strong unlike so many other bands who promise better albums although there way past their prime....btw everyone should go pick up the visions of the beast dvd and rock in rio...both of them are orgasmic

Ramsey 11-25-2003 07:23 AM

wow i can already tell this thread will be tons more popular than the metallica thread.

superpeer 11-25-2003 09:23 AM

I don't wanna offend the army of Iron maiden fans,
but Iron Maiden does not appeal to me at all.
the whole, skulls and satan epic thing isn't really my style.
and the vocalist sings way too high for my liking,

I might change my opinion though, i'm open for new music

RockerGav 11-25-2003 09:33 AM

Superpeer: Try some Di'Anno stuff then.

Paul Di'Anno was the old singer, or even maybe the Blaze Bailey era.

Question: If I want the best of Di'Anno era Maiden, do I buy Killers or Iron Maiden ?

superpeer 11-25-2003 09:37 AM

I'll try that

Iron Maiden is better in my opinion. Songs like Phantom of the Opera, Remember Tomorrow, Transylvania, Sanctuary and (of course) Iron Maiden make the album a classic. Although Killers does have a fair few gems of it's own :D

mulletron 11-25-2003 10:41 AM

Yeah, Iron Maiden is better than Killers.

Anyone going to the Earls Court gig on December 12th?

HondoII 11-25-2003 11:02 AM

If wrathchild was on Iron Maiden then it would be the perfect cd. But my fav is still Number of the Beast and LAD

Mars Volta 11-25-2003 11:40 AM

I'm going to see them in a week at sheffield, can't wait!

naboo 11-25-2003 01:28 PM

I really like Purgartory on Killers, but i dont have Iron Maiden. I just got Some where in Time yesterday and i thought it was real different from the three albums before whcih i have, but its so good. Is Seventh Son as good as Somewhere in Time, is it likke it? Im still gonna get it, but im just wondering

sensitiveorgan00 11-25-2003 01:41 PM

The Clairvoyant is also a good song.

DestroyerChris 11-25-2003 01:54 PM

i love iron maiden. they're my all time favorite band. my fav. song would definitly be fear of the dark...especially the live in rock in rio. i wouldda killed to have been there! i can't wait to see them in january (in the states). i just hope they swing by somewhere near d.c. but if not then well, i just have a bit of driving to do huh??? gotta see maiden no matter how far away from d.c. they come.

up the irons!

HondoII 11-25-2003 04:38 PM
