ill go first

sense sfail - stephen

this song just reminds me of people i have lost like my uncle and this song is a true story really written from the heart and i just hear it and feel sad but happy.

LYRICS

(Goodbye)
November 10th , a cold dark night
You could feel that something wasn't right.
That night many hearts did cry
When we learned we had to say goodbye.

All embraced under one common song
the body is dead but life lives on.

Good-bye Stephen. Good-bye you friend. You were so young.

The Cars lined the streets, as it was coming to an end.
The sun shined so brightly the day we buried our friend.

Losing in the fall, lost innocence came down
An 18 year old boy was buried in the ground.
A family's broken hearts, a friend's streaming tears.
The light lost in death, the living's growing fears.
Of Eternal darkness or is it spiritual light to come with terms with death on the darkest night.
A brother lost a brother, a friend lost a friend, a mother lost a son but stephen's soul will never end.

(You were so young)
(Good-bye)
A brother lost a brother, a friend lost a friend, a mother lost a son but stephen's soul will never end.

Thursday - "Standing On The Edge Of Summer", because it is about the last time the lead singer saw his grandmother, and realized she was dying. I went through a similar time a few years ago, so this song really means a lot to me.

In this room I'm sitting by your side.
'Cause it rains for hours and the phone is off its hook.
Standing on the edge, casting lots to set me up before you knock me down,
off the summer's edge and drown me.
We're betting on our own lives, making up for all the time we lost.
In this house of cards we're all holding hearts and spades
(one breath, one step could knock it all down)
but you lead with your eyes and you give it away
(decide, design to cut from the clouds).
When the people you love get lost in the shuffle,
(when you leave, you leave nothing but broken heart)
you let it go and then you fold.
So we stay on the open road.
We drive for hours and still no end in sight at all.
Driving in your car, miss the stop sign, fall in love, just to get knocked out.
Pull your punches and burn with your cigarettes.
Pulled like a punch and burnt like a cigarette?
forever.

My boufriend (Before he was my boyfriend) sent me the lyrics to Greenday's Only of You and it was really sweet and corny and I was like AWWWW :) That was nice.

Whoops I OD'd because I have a friend that died of heroin. There's some others that I can't think of at the moment.

The vast majority of Thrice's Identity Crisis album. I was struggling with a lot of the issues it addressed and probably listened to it over 50 times in a few months.

Me neither. I've only heard one DC song. Didn't appeal to me.

I listen to Dashboard Confessional once in a while, but I'm not familiar with that song.

Brand New - "Guernica"

Ever since I was young
Your word is the word that always won
Worry and wake the ones you love
A phone call I壇 rather not receive
Please use my body while I sleep
My lungs are fresh and yours to keep
Kept clean and they will let you breathe

Is this the way a toy feels
When its batteries run dry
I am the watch you always wear
But you forget to wind

Nobody plans to be half a world away at times like these
So I sat alone and waited out the night
The best part of what has happened was the part I must have missed
So I知 asking you to shine it on
And stick around
I知 not writing my goodbyes

I submit no excuse
If this is what I have to do
I owe you every day I wake
If I could I would shrink myself
Sink through your skin to your blood cells
Remove whatever makes you hurt
But I am too weak to be your cure

Is this the way a toy feels
When its batteries run dry
I am the watch you always wear
But you forget to wind

Nobody plans to be half a world away at times like these
So I sat alone and waited out the night
The best part of what has happened was the part I must have missed
So I知 asking you to shine it on
And stick around
I知 not writing my goodbyes

I知 not letting you check out
You will beat this starting now
You will always be around
I知 there to monitor your breathing
I will watch you while you池e sleeping
I will keep you safe and sound

Does anybody remember back when you were very young
Did you ever think that you would be this blessed

Nobody plans to be half a world away at times like these
So I sat alone and waited out the night
The best part of what has happened was the part I must have missed
So I知 asking you to shine it on
And stick around
I知 not writing my goodbyes

The lyrics are about Jesse's grandfather when he died of cancer. It was during writing or recording of their record (Can't remember which), and Jesse just felt he had let him down for not being there when he was in hospital and everything. This is how I feel a lot about my grandad who died the same way, and it's just a really eerie song for me to listen to now.

Green Day is a bunch of queers

GWAR's Salaminizer touched me

heres some lyric:

Here's a little something from a God to a slave,
I never should of been let out the f**king microwave!
We're on this planet and we're running amok,
I should give a s**t but I don't give a f**k!
Ever since I was a scumdog, I blew a C*m-wad.
I need a mother-f**king suckad**kalickalong!
Burning a mall or two, blowing the load I spew.
You don't wanna f**king f**k me! I'll F**k you!
This is your @$$, and I'm in it.
My man sexy will f**k you up in a minute.
With an axe, sword, mace, pike your limbless.
Then I'll f**k your @$$ till its rimless!

[Chorus:]
Oh! You humans always screaming!
Oh! As you suckle on my s***n!
Oh! And the s**t is always steamin'
A drunk, a pervert, a junkie and a womanizer.
But you can call me the salaminizer
Give unto give unto give unto give unto

My life is a luxury, so filled with hate.
I got fifty slaves heaping maggots on my plate.
From my fortress in Antarctica I watch the world die
On my Sony Trinitron that's switched to channel 5.
Back on the road, its no lie....
Stupid f**king humans pay money to die!
Crushed in the pit, nailed to the stage
I only suck the souls that are underage.

[Chorus]
Oh! You humans always screaming!
Oh! As you suckle on my s***n!
Oh! And the s**t is always steamin'
A drunk, a pervert, a junkie and a sodomizer.
But you can call me the salaminizer
Give unto give unto give unto give unto

Typical R+M'er...haha...

Hmm a song that means something to me...

Maybe Korn's Counting on me.

The chorus goes 'counting on me, always hoping i'll be, there for all of your problems and in turn you're never there for me'

Or tool's H ... I am too connected to you, drift away, fade away. You taste the way I still feel you, touching me, holding me.

The rest of the songs aren't too relevant/important to me, those lines are just really key to the way I have felt in the past.

I tend to listen to music in album form, as an escape from stuff. Big albums for me have been Radiohead's Kid A, NiN's The Downward Spiral and A Perfect Circle's Thirteenth step. These albums are like an escape into someone else's life for me, really useful for self evaluation and stuff, I'm probably not making sense but those albums are the music that has really touched me.

Green day still sux

that song "Hooker with a *****" is so great :thumb:

cbmartinez 09-19-2005 03:52 PM

Thursday- "How Long Is The Night?"

I will never sleep again
(I will never even close my eyes)

It's all I ever see anymore
But the day was so bright in the pictures
In the photo album that you gave me
It's all I have to live for

Can't say I can really relate to it but the song really makes me emotional.

mewithoutYou- "Carousels"

On a bus ride into town, I wondered "Why am I going to town?"
I looked around at the billboards and the stores I thought,
"Why do I look around?"
so I got out and I bowed and kissed the filthy ground
and in the first dry spot I found I laid down without having to wonder why I was laying down.
Before long I was too cold and so took a bus back to the station
I found a letter left by a pay phone with no return contact information,
it was addressed: To total strangers,
it read like a horn blown by some sad angel
"Bunny, it was me who let you down"
it was the shyest attempt I'd ever seen at conversation
if I didn't have You as my guide I'd still wander lost in Sinai
counting the plates of cars from out-of-state,
(how I could jump in their path they hurry along!)
until you could surround me, you're pretty but you're all I can see,
like a thick fog - if there was no way into God,
I would never have laid in this grave of a body for so long,
St. Cyril's fair always came through the first week of September
but it's already the 19th and there's no sign of it yet.
I have a hard time remembering the things I should remember
and a hard time forgetting the things I should forget.
Oh Christ when You're ready to come back I think I'm ready for You to come back
but if You want to stay wherever exactly it is You are,
that's okay too - it's really none of my business.
If I didn't have You as my guide I'd still be wandering lost in Sinai
or down by the tracks watching trains go by to remind me:
There are places that aren't here.
I had a well but all the water left so I'll ask Your forgiveness with every breath,
if there was no way into God,
I would never have laid in this grave of a body
So long, dear.

The lyrics for this are really incredible. Most of Catch For Us The Foxes really touches me, especially "Disaster Tourism." Not really the lyrics on that song but the song itself is just incredible.

Thrice- "In Years To Come"

I want to write the perfect song,
and play it just for you,
while you are tangled up in sleep.
I need you more than ill ever know
until I stop breathing
my lungs will take you for granted.

I think these are my favorite lyrics ever. Pretty self-explanatory.

Hooker is probably their worst song. It is a complete Joke, not tool-ish at all. Go listen to push!t or Third eye, then talk to me about tool. Green day only sucks because you are trying to be as cool as possible. And with a name like yours i'd be expecting Cannibal Corpse, Burzum and Mayhem to be your favourite bands, not Korn and Tool.

Please, you are in the pop-punk forum, the majority of people like green day, they are one of the most well known pop-punk bands. If you want to discuss RnM bands and slate pop-punk head over to RnM.
