Deathcore!
I have just recently discovered this supposed genre, and I am in love with it. Please discuss things to do with it here, and suggest bands.
Current bands are: Stick To Your Guns Deadwater Drowning Despised Icon Animosity I want to hear more. So far I have not heard enough to warrant that is an actual genre, and it seems just to be a branch of metalcore. It's just a branch off metalcore it seems, but has very distinct influences that most metalcore lacks. Even if you don't think it is a genre(I don't yet), you should see the particular sound I'm looking for. |
It isn't a genre, but I know the sound you're getting at. Check out All Shall Perish the whole of Hate. Malice. Revenge. is fantastic.
Thanks, I checked them out and love them. I added them to the list and edited a little.
Deathcore? Maybe BMTH if you don't mind scene faggots.
Like you.
You knows it bro.
I'm seeing BMTH in a few weeks actually, my mate has promised to beat a scenester for me since i don't do all that dancing crap. People here still think i'm 'scene'?
Your buddy sounds like a moron.
its annoying how everyone hates BMTH because of the scene following they have.they are actully a really decent band in my opinion
He was joking. I think. He can go hit whoever he wants.
They are ok, way too hardcore kids over here like to play Doctor Hardass.
Check out Liu Kang, they have a pretty metallic sound but they totally know whats up, pretty much the only uk band Ive heard that speaks out against the Ganster bull**** going on in UK hardcore, especially round London. |
Interesting, I'd listen now but I'm in computer class so I'll do it when I get home.
Listen to "And then there were none" and "Feed Us Fetus"
i know liu kang.i made a thread about them awhile back. really into them at the moment and the anti-violence thing is really good

They are a incredible band. |
Try Glass Casket. I wouldn't classify them deathcore (I wouldn't classify any band as deathcore), but they sound a lot like the bands that you listed. http://myspace.com/glasscasket They're pretty tight.
...bmth..?
Bring Me The Horizon

fuck yes. deathcore = death metal + metalcore? |
Wouldn't this supposed "deathcore" genre be similar to grind or am I pulling the wrong strings.
Threadstarter, use the term deathcore again and you're banned.
this is the first time i have heard the term since i wondered what cannibal corpse and minor threat would sound like if someone mixed them together. i called that deathcore.
But Cannibal Corpse are scene now.
I thought their death metal parts were awful so I'll stick to real death metal bands instead.
Haha this is one of my terms.
A great deathcore band is Suffokate. www.myspace.com/suffokate |

?? You just have to put http:// at the beginning of the link to make it work.
But Cannibal Corpse are scene now.
when i thought of that crossover i was in like the seventh grade (10th now) and how are cannibal corpse scene? |
all these scene kids have started wearing their t-shirts and supposedly listen to them
Beneath the Massacre.
all these scene kids have started wearing their t-shirts and supposedly listen to them
exactly. |
Most of the stuff you guys are suggesting don't seem to have any real hardcore inlfuence. They seem straight up death to me.
Dur.
I was looking for more deathish metalcore, not actual death. ;)

I don't care for them, but maybe you'll like these guys. Basically just chugging metalcore with deeper vocals. Listen to Wrong Breed first. |

damn those bastards. |

So just because a group of people started liking them doesn't mean they all of sudden became a bad band. You should still like the band regardless of who likes them. |
Beneath the Massacre.

Way too repetitive and boring. I like more aggression in my music. I hate the chugging parts, but the fatser parts were decent. |
Deadwater Drowning is nuts. Definitely check them out.
Also, The End, Glass Casket, Ion Dissonance and Misery Index will probably make you happy. All are quite technical bands that are definitely core based, but with elements of death. All very technical and heavy. |
