Vans Warped Tour - July 26th, 2005 @ Darien Lake PAC, Buffalo NY

Here is a short review of my top five performances from this years Warped Tour.

5. Hawthorne Heights - They were the second band of the day to play, and they did a great job of getting the crowd pumped up. They were energetic, and got a great response from the crowd.

Favorite Songs: "Niki FM", "Silver Bullet"

4. Fall Out Boy - They had by far the largest crowd of any of the bands that I saw. They had a ton of energy, and put on a great show. They also achieved the largest mosh pit of any band I saw when they played "Saturday" to close out their set.

Favorite Songs: "Saturday", "I Slept With Someone in Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me"

3. The Starting Line - For some reason, a lot of people left after Fall Out Boy, and didn't hang around for TSL. However, the people who hung around were not dissapointed. TSL put on an amazing show and kept the crowd moving, while playing a good mix of old and new music.

Favorite Songs: "Surprise Surprise", "Best of Me"

2. Saosin - These guys were really impressive. I had never really listen to them before, but they put on a tremedous show. A lot of people seemed to not know who they were, as they were an unexpected addition to the main stage (as was Hawthorne Heights), but they got a great reception.

Favorite Songs: "Seven Years", "Translating the Name"

1. Senses Fail - These guys were absolutely incredible. The crowd was so pumped up throughout their whole set. There was non-stop moshing, crowd surfing, and jumping the whole time. They were energetic, exciting, and easily the most fun band of the night.

Favorite Songs: "Lady in the Blue Dress", "Stephen"

Oh, and if your wondering why Thrice didn't make the top five, it's because a thunderstorm ended their set after just 5 minutes, and they never came back on. :upset:

thomas is fast 08-02-2005 09:32 PM

I didn't go to Warped Tour...and I'm not sorry.

Sounds Of The Underground freakin kicked ass.

Mustard Plug was pretty okay.

Atreyu, Unearth, and Norma Jean was fun as freakin hell.

Warped 2003 was pretty bad ***.

The Suicide Machines were pretty good.

DKM/The Casualties could have been better.

Rancid had a lack of energy.

From First To Last...well I don't like to talk about that.

Symphony In Peril...got cancelled because the venue forgot to advertise...

Poison The Well was damn fun.

Those are just off the top of my head. There are a few more.

Another review: Action Action - August 1st, 2005 @ The Icon, Buffalo NY

This past Monday I went to see Spitalfield, Gatsby's American Dream, Waking Ashland, and Action Action. It was the last day of the tour, and all the bands were great. Action Action came on last, and they played an awesome set. At the end of the last song, the band started to completely demolish the stage. The drummer kicked over the bass drum, and then began pounding on one of the shnares so hard that it fell over. Meanwhile, one of the keyboard players almost knocked his keyboard into the crowd. It was hilarious.
are finch, skindred, and HIM going on tour?
I'm not sure, but when I posted those dates yesterday, the site I got them from (absolutepunk) labelled them as Finch tour dates, not Thrice. They corrected it to day, but the article didn't mention if Finch would actually be touring with Skindred and H.I.M.

skankin'sophr 08-04-2005 01:17 PM

so where did you get the idea that skindred him and finch were all touring together?

poprocks&coke 08-04-2005 01:23 PM

I don't know, but System of a Down are touring with The Mars Volta

:upset:

Mute Print 08-04-2005 01:24 PM
so where did you get the idea that skindred him and finch were all touring together?
Absolutepunk labelled the Thrice tour dates as "Finch/H.I.M./Skindred", and I originally posted them as that. Then this morning Absolutepunk corrected themselves saying the dates were Thrice, not Finch, so I wanted to make sure no one was confused.

Here is the article from absolutepunk: http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=81073

And I can't find anything about a Finch/H.I.M./Skindred tour, so I'm guessing it might not be happening, or there are no dates for it yet.

If you read the News thread, you will know that Fenix*TX are playing a show on Friday, August 19 at Clubhouse, Arizona.

Well, you may not know that Homegrown is supporting. That's not really the important part though.

You may not know that this CD will be recorded live and put out by this amazing band who called it quits in 2002. I suggest you go to it, they will no doubt be amazing.

dougefresh 08-05-2005 09:39 PM

In chronilogical order

Van Halen - Very very good. I thought the bass solo could have been cut from the show, because it was pretty much the bassist wanking on his bass. It was awesome for a reunion, I thought.

Metallica - Not as good as I thought it would be. I think their setlist was very weak. They didn't play as many old songs as I wished they had. Not bad though.

Less than Jake - So so so so awesome. They played every song I wish they played. They played a lot of old stuff, and it was so fun. Hidden in Plain View, Kane Hodder, and These Green Eyes played with them. I liked These Green Eyes the best. Kane Hodder sucked royally, and I'm not really into Hidden in Plain View, but they weren't bad.

Lamb of God - Great great great. I don't really think anything bad happened (ie. crappy setlist, sound) and the crowd was crazy.

I can't see Thrice later this fall, because of a marching band coommitment. I am very upset about that.

Really? When I saw them, they played only three songs from St. Anger, and the rest were older. It was an amazing show. The best non-pop-punk show I've seen.

Well they played Turn the Page, Fuel, some songs off Load and Reload that I don't remember, and totally butchered Fade to Black by stopping halfway and yelling chants.

They played a handful of good shows, and those were great. I just wasn't satisfied because of the amount of 1990+ songs.

Oh. When I saw them they played a good variety of songs. They played one or two great songs from each album. It was the longest set I think I've ever seen too.

Godsmack opened, and they were pretty good also.

Van Halen - Very very good. I thought the bass solo could have been cut from the show, because it was pretty much the bassist wanking on his bass. It was awesome for a reunion, I thought.

Omg I'm Jealous :P do you know if they're going to tour again in Europe?
