Funeral For A Friend

I just got Hours by these guys. I am really liking this. Anyone else dig it?

Electric Ocean 06-08-2005 11:14 AM

I like it although it's not as good as Casually Dressed... IMO. You might not find too much love for them round these parts though but loads of people in Pop-Punk like them .

I had a feeling I shoul've posted this in there instead.

Scabies 06-08-2005 11:53 AM

wrong forum. Street car reminds of Tragedy (the band) for some reason.

40 oz 2 freedom 06-08-2005 12:02 PM

FFAF compared with Tragedy? BLASPHEMY

Scabies 06-08-2005 12:04 PM

haah im sorry but it does! the end bit, where theres the slow emo riff. Well reminds me of 'The day after'.

40 oz 2 freedom 06-08-2005 12:08 PM

I guess I can kiiinda see it.

RedG3 06-08-2005 12:58 PM

Yeah Guitar Symphony, the Hours cd has some awesome songs. Although there weren't as many good songs on it as Casually Dressed..., I still think it's tight. I'm working on tabbing out the album, seeing as mxtabs doesn't even have FFAF in their listings.

I'm almost finished with the tab of Recovery, which took awhile to pick out all the stuff going on in the background. If anyone wants to help out tabbing the album, just send me a pm or reply here.

k1ckthecat 06-08-2005 01:38 PM

 i thought it came out the 14th? the site says july 13th? what's going on

j_brown_12 06-08-2005 01:42 PM

to be honest i hardly ever listen to stuff from that genre but streetcar is ridculously catchy and the album is pretty good. in my opinion its VERY pop,but I dont mind that. Its almost going the lostprophets route (minus turntables).

i know and i appologise :upset: i heard streetcar and was talkin to a friend who let me borrow the album, i thought it was good :thumb:

RedG3 06-08-2005 04:24 PM

Ah, sorry I didn't take note of it because it was spelled wrong. Usually in mxtabs the tabs for a band aren't all under the same directory if the name of the band is spelled wrong. Rather, it's usually a solo submitter that accidentally misspelled it, so I figured when I saw that directory, that was the case.

south_guitar 06-08-2005 06:46 PM

A good pop punk band, not hardcore or emo.

RedG3 06-08-2005 06:55 PM

I've always thought "Pop Punk" had a degrading tinge to it. I think FFAF is more post-hardcore than pop punk.

z is me 06-08-2005 07:38 PM

on first listen i was unimpressed with the hours. casually dressed was a lot better, in my opinion. im giving it a follow up listen as i type

Sep 06-09-2005 12:35 AM

I have Casually Dressed and it's a decent album. I'm not going to bother with Hours though.

Theused85 06-09-2005 05:58 AM

ehhh.. how did you guys come about hours?? I thought there was 10 days or so till it hit the streets...

I downloaded it in one the YSI threads. I think it was the lockdown one, but I don't remember.

But I'll see if I can get Casually Dressed since every one seems to prefer that song.
oh btw to anyone who has seen them live what song do they finish with.
They obviously don't finish each show with the same song...

corycamefalling 06-09-2005 01:14 PM

i like them.

JACK! 06-09-2005 06:53 PM

I've seen them countless times here and there since I live in South Wales. They have a huge following around here, but they're not my thing.

Yes.

EPs > Casually Dressed... > Hours. IMO.

Sep 06-10-2005 04:13 AM

Yeah what I've heard from the EP is much better than Casually Dressed.

TurnMyHoursIntoDays 06-10-2005 04:30 AM

hours is a good cd but not as good as there older stuff my fave song on hours is probs all the rage a really good opener to the cd

hey , what part of south wales you from ?

Electric Ocean 06-10-2005 11:00 AM

He's from Caerphilly if I remember rightly and I'm from Merthyr encase you wanted to know.

JACK! 06-10-2005 02:04 PM

Yup, Caerphilly.

~All my life~ 06-10-2005 02:56 PM

I haven't heard any songs off the album except for Streetcar so far, but this song sounds ALOT more pop-punk compared to alot of the songs from their previous work. For example, This years most open heartbreak, which is very emo/hardcore.

But still I look forward to getting the album and I'm not that bothered if they sound more pop-punk.

Katana 06-10-2005 06:54 PM

I like Funeral for a Friend.

~All my life~ 06-10-2005 07:59 PM
I like Funeral for a Friend.
SGlove 06-11-2005 01:41 AM

Oh, wow!
You can go skipping down the street, holding hands, and singing Funeral for a Friend songs!
Yay!!

misfitsandcider 06-11-2005 03:48 AM

i really dont like streetcar it pisses me off royally..older stuff was better..before casually dressed...
