Hey i haven't seen a social D thread in here so im starting one it will probably die slowly like a dog with rabies but who cares if you like let's talk about this great band .

I love this band.

My favorite album of theirs is the S/T.
I saw them last month as well. One of the best shows I ever went to. The more I listen to them, the more I like them.

Yeah they are great!

listen to them a good amount, some favotite tunes are

Don't Drag Me Down, Angel's Wings (Acoustic), Don't Take Me For Granted, Prison Bound

Their s/t is one of my favorite albums of all time. Their cover of Ring of Fire is awesome.

I've just started to listen to them actually, I really like them though. "Don't take me for granted"

i got Mommy's Little Monster, and honestly, i think they are over-rated. it sounded generic as phuck to me.

I hate them, even though everyone loves them.

They have a DVD with Youth Brigade and Minor Threat and it is called "Another State Of Mind". And it is sex.

Not sure if that is the one he was talking about though.

I think the other dvd is called like, "live in orange county"...idk something or another with orange county. Great band, i've always thought that they were the best at combining punk music with older rock music.

And to Weezerfan, I love how Social D combines rockabilly with punk too.

I love them. I saw them live back in October with Tiger Army and they were great. I was listening to them in my room and my dad heard and he listens to them all the time now.

They alright, I don't listen to them much. They are kinda generic.

I love Social D. I was supposed to see them in March, but they cancelled. It sucked ***. Fav songs are: Reach for the sky, 1945, don't take me for granted (rip DD), Winners and Losers, Don't drag me down, ring of fire, mommy's little monster.

And who is their current bassist? Freeman left some time ago i believe, and John quit after Sex, Love and Rock n' Roll, didn't he?

Yeah, it's not the same guy as the one on record, but I forgot his name.

or maby he didn't buy the computer, but his parents did, meaning the damage to the anti-capitalist cause has already been done, and now that he has it he might as well use it to spread his ideas and make them heard

Sd one of my top 10 favorite bands. Mike Ness one of the best liricists ever. My favorite album would be Mommy's Little Monster or Sex, Love, n Rock n Rool (new album) favorite songs r mommy's little monster, nickels and dimes, or dont take me for granted.

I saw the dvd but i was broke i was so pissed .

When I heard story of my life in concert i was in awe
its just diffrent when you go in person and when ur listen to a cd.

Social D is what rock and roll is all about: music, women, booze, and making it sound like it's the everyman's story. The people I work with never heard of them or listened to any of their stuff, but over the course of playing all of their albums, almost all of them have come to like them because they can identify with the songs, and there isn't anything better than a little rockabilliy and some punk to make things a little more interesting than the same old Kenny Chesney crap.

My friend's mom likes Social D alot. She went to see them live a few years ago, and has a Social Distortion liscense plate frame :cool:.

I love Social D. I like them better than the Ramones. They always sounded more alternative to me than punk. One of my favorite bands nonetheless.

They definitely sound more on the alternative side rather than punk. But something about them is definitely punx.
