What are your thoughts on the band Incubus. Do you like the new bassist?

The 80's death metal band or the gay one? (there's my thoughts on the one you probably mean!)

i like incubus the new bassit is sure to do great but why do u have an icp avatar they suck

Incubus is pretty good. A Crow Left of the Murder was quite good, the new bassist is pretty decent, much better than I was expecting him to be.

One of my favorite bands.

I liked S.C.I.E.N.C.E and Fungus Amoungus. The other stuff is decent, but I don't like it as much.

The first song I ever heard by them was Warning. Thought they were a boy band for a while. :rolleyes:

I like incubus but I wouldnt have called Dirk Lance expendable. Anyhow. Crow left.... isnt particularly good but most of their other albums are awesome. Especially S.C.I.E.N.C.E and Make Yourself.

They're a great band. Ben is good, but in my opinion he is no where near as good as Dirk.
ACLOTM is different from their odler stuff and it shows a mature progression in their songwriting and them branching out in a different stye. It is possibly my fav Incubus album. They're pretty good live as well.

I like them a lot. Recently I really got into them.

He's good, but i prefer Dirk

they are one of my favorite bands, and SCIENCE is awesome

Make Yourself is my least favorite Incubus album, but i like a couple songs off of it(Out From Under ****ing rocks)

Alright, you're basically saying that there's been one Incubus thread in the last month.

You proved absolutely nothing by posting that link.

Ben Kenney was Incubus' ace in the hole for this album. He's great. Check out his solo album.

Icubus are one(1) of my Fav bands.But I think they are getting a bit weak. Morning View was good, but different, ok, but A Crow Left Of The Murder only had a few good songs that quickly faded into infinity. S.C.I.E.N.C.E was great and Make Yourself was Good as well. I am yet to hear the Earlier ones like Enjoy Incubus.

I think Incubus is a very innovative band, but yeah, Ben Kenney wishes he was Dirk Lance

two really good songs are Drive and Megalomaniac

Jose Pasillas (correct speling?) is an awesome drummer too.

I love Incubus. They don't really sound like any other bands. They're pretty unique.

Incubus is my favorite band around today, the Alive At Red Rock dvd is very nice...

they were better...
 

the first incubus cd i got was S.C.I.E.N.C.E and i liked it alot cause of the funk influence in it, (especially the bass) that was what seperated them from every other band out there, and they've been slowly loosing that funk, Morning View had a little bit, but Crow Left of the Murder has almost no funk bass in it at all, Dirk was my favorite bassist out there and now that he's gone i don't even think they deserve the name "incubus" anymore.

OK, I hate Dirk/Ben comparisons.

Both men have different styles. You'll notice that NOTHING on ACLOTM sounds like anything prior towards it. Plus, Ben Kenney could easily play circles around Dirk. We're not looking at who's funkier - it's just that Ben is an overall better musician than Dirk. If you need convincing - watch the new Alive at Red Rocks DVD.

I really like Incubus, they are right up there with Metallica on my favorite bands list. However, I just like the style of Dirk Lance better than Kenney. Of course Kenney has to be pretty good to play with them, but I just like Lance's playing better.

incubus is my third favorite band, while zep and halen place the top. i have morning view (my fav incubus cd) and make yourself and they are just awesome. brandon is a good frontman but i wanna see mike do some improv soloing....

Incubus have a really good line up, a singer (Brandon Boyd) who can sing and also write great thought provoking lyrics, Mike Einzigner an underated guitarist whose name I can never spell, he uses effects like no other guitarist does, Ben Kennedy I'm sorry 'pwnz' Dirk, sure Dirk could slap and pop thats about it, listen to Ben's basslines on the new album, it awesome, DJ Kilmore imo not needed but i suppose he adds 'layers to the songs, and finally Joze Pasillas, awesome drummer.

Every one of their band members can play the instrument well and therefore they create excellent music, sure its probably to 'pop' for alot of the death/metal heads on this forum but in my eyes they are the best popular band around to date.

I can't stand their guitarist. Sure he's good with his feet but many of his riffs sound like hes playing random stuff, and during their jams on Alive at Red Rocks, when he's not playing random stuff he's playing simple sh[b][i][/b][/i]it like major/minor scales, triads, and octaves.

But I have to agree that his use of effects is pretty da[b][i][/b][/i]mn cool.

I used to be big fan up untill morning view. From what I have heard of Crow Left the Murder I am not very impressed.

Incubus are actually pretty good. I don't know alot about them in terms of songs/albums. I've got some songs downloaded on my comp, but that's about it.

Drive and Pardon me are pretty good.

Incubus are one of the bands that never gets old for me. I like the Morning View album the best.

incubus is a pretty good band in my opinion. they have a guitarist that is better than a lot of mainstream guitarists these days, there drummer can do drum solos, and their old bassist was also capable of soloing. sadly he had to leave and was replaced by ben who doesnt have as much skill. and they have better lyrics than most mainstream bands these days.

I would have to say these are my favorite incubus tracks.

Does anyone think Mike Einziger is a good backup vocalist?

Incubus is seriously one of the best bands around today I can go on and on about them but to keep with the rest of this thread both Dirk and Ben are amazing bass players, but each has a different style. On morning view the band took a more modern/prog rock approach that is more guitar based and Ben's style fits that a lot better than Dirks. ACLOTM is probably my 3rd fav of their albums (Morning View, Make Yourself, ACLTOM, SCIENCE, FUNGUS) though I love them all I have never heard an album I enjoy more than morning view. Heres my fave tracks
