Bohemian Rhapsody Cover (Intro and first two verses)

Here's something I recorded as a project in my vocal lessons. I have to thank my teacher Pete Palazzolo for recording it. He also played all the instrumentation & figured out the vocal harmonies for me to sing.

holy ****, thats awesome

GuitarDude570b 10-02-2004 12:25 AM

i wanna hear the rest!!!

SkidRow 10-02-2004 03:01 AM

Reminds me of the Bruce Dickenson opera version of the song.

GuitarComet 10-02-2004 03:56 AM

I wish I could sing like that.

Even though you'd admit "You're no Freddie Mercury", You did a fine job!

Give the teacher a pat on the back, too!
Great Job!

ClaXoN 10-02-2004 10:26 AM

OMG, i love it, WOW, honestly, you have to do the rest, PLEASE do the rest!!!

InMyPlace 10-02-2004 10:44 AM

You have a nice voice but to be blunt you ruined a classic.

Sorry :upset:

GuitarDude570b 10-02-2004 12:24 PM

ruined? not in my opinion

AJtheguitarist 10-02-2004 06:33 PM

That's awesome :D

JeffofBetrayer 10-05-2004 10:05 PM

Thanks for the comments everyone!

"You have a nice voice but to be blunt you ruined a classic.

Sorry"

Yeah lol, I know it doesn't compare to the original. Man, but after recording this I have an even greater respect for Queen or any band who recorded complex stuff like this during that era where there was no digital editing, just splicing tape....must have taken forever....unless they were just such good musicians that they nailed thier parts with minimal/or no retakes.

This was just something though for basically a learning experience for me. To learn mostly about how so many harmonies can work together and to try and devolop some new techniques with my voice.

Permanent Solution 10-05-2004 10:30 PM

Meh...i have to agree with place...you are very talented, but not Freddie...and to be honest...the instruments needed to be turned up a little to balance better, though they weren't the same as in the original. Wow...this sounds so mean lol, good job, just not Queen quality heh...

turboblues 10-06-2004 07:19 AM

Not bad at all!

Riffmeister9 10-06-2004 09:33 AM

That was an awsome job man, please do the rest of the song.

JeffofBetrayer 10-11-2004 08:13 PM

"and to be honest...the instruments needed to be turned up a little to balance better"

Yeah, I agree the instruments are a little low in the mix. We didn't really spend too much time at all on mixing, most of the time was spent working on figuring out and recording those vocal harmonies.

"I like the way you ended with a repitation of "carry on, carry on. As if nothing even matters." If you had followed the song 100% it would have sounded really awkward without the guitar cutting in"

Thanks, luckily my teacher thought of doing that since I wasn't too sure how we were going to end it otherwise.

discodave 10-12-2004 05:14 PM

Not bad. Not the best voice I've ever heard tonally, but you have a good grasp of harmonies.

happyjack 10-12-2004 05:22 PM

Good Stuff!

PrinceRocksMeBollox 10-13-2004 07:05 AM

Not bad... too bad your teacher did all the work.

GuitarDude570b 10-13-2004 02:27 PM

JeffofBetrayer 11-18-2004 10:22 PM

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Glad some of you enjoyed it!

RichHunt 11-19-2004 06:55 AM

Tad sketchy here and there but better than anything I could ever do.

dans107 11-19-2004 07:50 AM

You remind me of Donny Osmond.

pixiesfanyo 11-19-2004 10:03 PM

I don't know what they are talking about saying you ruined a classic.

It's fantastic.

Zeppelin's Riot 11-20-2004 02:14 AM

I liked it.

Even though he's not Freddie, I still like it.

Pretty good, but what does my opinion matter?

DrGolovaCroxby 11-20-2004 02:15 AM

i'm going to say that is a hell of a lot better than i could have done. you have a very nice voice, and if you keep working on it, i think it'll be even tighter. you show quite a bit of potential.

filth and fury 11-20-2004 04:04 AM

n00b!

jk dude, great stuff.

greenzeppelin182 11-20-2004 07:47 AM

Gtreat recording. Yeah, your'e not Freddy Mercury, but when making a cover your'e meant to sound different. Well in for having the balls to let random people hear it too.

dans107 11-20-2004 08:48 AM

Yeah, I mean I didn't like it - but it's miles better than anything I could ever do.

m00sa 11-20-2004 09:29 AM

hmm nice job :).. u did it alot slower than the original tho ^^

Maiden China 11-21-2004 01:42 PM

Great job man, you have a great voice for the song, and your teacher also did a great job arranging it.

Flaminghotchino 11-21-2004 03:22 PM

Great Job. Keep Practicing It. That was enjoyable =)

DrunkenPirate 11-26-2004 07:49 AM

noice dude.

TaylorRules 11-26-2004 08:14 AM

You do indeed have an amazing voice but as a massive Queen fan the song did nothing for me. Like many have said it's a classic that should never be covered.

morrissey 11-26-2004 03:14 PM

I don't know, every time I click I link in here, the singer is dreadful. You have an amazing voice... of course you don't sound exactly like Freddie Mercury, everyone has a different voice. But your voice is amazing, no doubt. I would love to hear some originals if you write music. Excellent work.

hacked_to_pieces 11-26-2004 06:50 PM
