Ac/dc
just let me say in advance that a lot of people will probably disagree with me on this but im kind of hypocritical on this so here i go....
AC/DC is a good band in the sense that they play catchy tunes that you can hear for the first time and sing along to or tap your foot to. but.... Thats because there songs a simple but good. AC/DC isnt all that great of musicians they've won people over simplicity and catchyness |
AC/DC sound good.
That's all that matters in music. |
All of their songs sound exactly the same to me.
|
AC/DC is a decent band. Most of their songs sound the same to me. Angus is an over rated guitar player. But they do rock and I must salute them for that. They have put out alot of records and most of them are pretty good.
|
yeah i like them somewhat but i can't listen to them for too long.
|
angus has some talent on the guitar, he has some good solos, but thats baisicly all the talent there is
|
I like the one handed intro to thunderstruck
|
ac/dc's music is simple and it's tru that angus does have some skill though....... but what matters is that they r one of the greatest bands in rock and roll and they put on a hell of a show
|
ac/dc rule....but your just one of those tony hawk four kids arnt you?
(knows this because all noobs like ac/dc, unfortuanly) |
I really don't like them.
|
their music is fun. and they do have occasional talented guitar riff i.e. thunderstruck
|
i really like AC/DC although some songs do sound the same...but when a band puts out 17 CD's its bound to get repetitive, i dont blame them.
|
Good Band
They are a great band but they do get repetitive not the best but still fricking Awesome.
|
acdc is way over rated...so is angus young
|
well they're not bad.. I like some of their songs but if I listen to them too much I get really sick of them.
|
acdc are one of the most influential rock and roll bands ever to play music. sure some of their songs are repetitive but tat only came around towards the end of her career. look at the golden age wen bon scott was round they played the best rock and roll australia has ever heard frm our own bands. acdc rock!
|
acdc made me take up guitar :thumb:
i think angus used to be underrated but lately he's somehow picked up some attention. There are many new bands out there who try to play the AC/DC style but can't make it big. I guess AC/DC is one of the only bands where repetitiveness has actually worked. I can say though, that their style of playing is often imitated but never duplicated. |
AC/DC are one of my favourite bands. They have an easily identifiable sound, a terrific stage presence, and their songs, while simple, are very well thought out and great to listen to. And musical technicality doesn't equal a great musician. While we all respect Steve Vai, Yngwie, et al, a good musician doesn't have to play fast, complicated music to be recognised as great.

Everyone's yammering about Angus Young, but what about Malcolm Young? His right hand is the one behind most of those killer riffs.
|
AC/DC are an awesome band and their songs dont sound the same I got 6 albums and the most common thing that sounds the same is the singing which is one of the major reasons ac/dc rocks they got one of the most original voices out their. Try listening to Money Talks, Thunder Struck, Are You Ready, then listen The Boogie Man, Stiff Upper Lip, Highway To Hell. THose songs dont sound the same do they?
People complain about bands that go bad but AC/DC and Iron Maiden are two bands that havent done that. (and IMO Metallica but thats not who were talking about). AC/DC have stuck to their formula which is kick ***! And Angus is a great soloist and performer! I've only seen videos but with their upcoming new cd "Strap It On" Which if its anything like any of their other cd's it will rock! I hope they come to canada. |

Apparently Malcolm makes most of the riffs in the songs |
ac/dc rule....but your just one of those tony hawk four kids arnt you?
(knows this because all noobs like ac/dc, unfortuanly)
Tony Hawk 4 kids? What the hell? back on topic... Ac/dc's songs sound all the same. Same chord intro. Same drum beat. Screeching vocals enter. 1 verse, chorus another verse solo chorus end of song. But they still sound good. Damn good. |
Apparently Malcolm makes most of the riffs in the songs
hehe...look at the name. I dedicated my screen name to malcolm because he is more dedicated/ talented than angus. Angus admits that Malcolm is a better guitar player. He writes most off the riffs and solos and Angus just plays them. |
Angus is actually really good at soloing.IMO
|
Very simple, but still pretty good. They used to be my favorite band, but then they got repetetive. I can still listen to them, but not for too long. But they have good, catchy songs. I wish they had better bass parts, though.
|
Why can you not listen to them for long? Every CD has something new and awesome! There an awesome band who else can pull of songs like The Boogie Man and Big Balls?
|
for 30 years, ac/dc has been putting out music and putting on amazing shows. Angus isn't overrated, if any thing he's unerrated. And Malcom doesnt write the solos. he has written proabably two. He does however write most of the main riffs. Angus writes his solos.

I really just don't know. I used to be able to listen to them every day, but I just got bored. But I still think they're a good band :thumb: |
angus is talented but almost all of their songs sound kinda the same
|

AC/DC isnt all that great of musicians they've won people over simplicity and catchyness
I'm pretty sure angus is better than you ..............Hell I bet malcolm is better than you. No there not the best skill wise but maybe they are better than what they play on their records. |
Angus isn't necessarily known for his guitar talent. The thing that makes him a legend is his stage presence. Who else thought up the duck walking, crazy-ness of his performances? That's why AC/DC is known, not that the music is bad, but because of his stage antics.
|
AC/DC may not be very diverse (i.e. all songs have generally the same guitar sound and structure), but they rock, and they got me onto rock and roll. Even though the solos aren't that hard, they still kick *** and get the job done very well. They're no Led Zeppelin or GnR in my opinion, but they definitely rock. Better than all of these awful punk and new "rock" bands. I don't like how on their albums there are so many "filler" songs though... it's mainly the title track and maybe one or two more good songs (excluding Back in Black and High Voltage).

I think that they are an overrated band, because alot of people that I know regared them as one of the greatest rock bands ever. They are an ok band, though.
|
If you've ever really watched AC/DC play, it simply will amaze you. As they are not the most skilled band out there, they are clever and extremely entertaining to watch. Angus is a great guitarist, not because he is the best player, but because of what he can do playing a guitar. If you've ever seen him, he never stops moving, always does crazy things, and all the while plays like hes sitting in a chair not doing anything.
They also have a good technique. In Thunderstruck, as TommyR said, the intro sounds great. But, its all three of the guitarists doing something. Theyre all playing a beat and when you put it all together, unless you're really paying attention, it sounds as if its one guitarist playing. Anyways, I love AC/DC music, and will always be a huge fan: Even if they aren't the best. Yes, this thread is old, but I wanted to voice my opinion. I'll probably never see this web page again. :D |
I mainly like their hits like T.N.T, Highway to Hell, Back in Black, etc.
|
Ac/dc sounds better than most other bands. Who cares about talent when you can write like that?
|
acdc is way over rated...so is angus young
You're a grade A wanker...  |
angus young is the reason i play guitar.
ac/dc is the reason i listen to music. |
