Just got done listening to "Leaving Transition". Awesome song. love the guitar work and the vocals. the recording was pretty good too. What did you use to record?

paulm12 07-16-2004 03:17 PM

listened to leaving transition, excellent, though the intro is maybe too long for a demo.

I agree

Nice Maddox avatar, KommieKanada.

The production sounds great on all of these pieces. Really well integrated. The songs are emo though, and I'm sorry , the market is just flooded with this crap. All 3 songs are, soft pop/ whiny emo / p@ssy sh!t.

But again they are produced wonderfully. :)

Potroasttheclown 07-16-2004 03:43 PM

Nu metal sux. Thats pretty much what isn't pop/whiny emo/p@ssy sh!t. The only other music besides those are like sum 41 and all those bands who all you rant about suck *****.

Wait a minute, you made the equipment you used to record it?

CommieCanada 07-16-2004 06:50 PM

^

well like we used pillows for sound supressors, and made vocal screens out of clothes hangers and panty hose...

Potroasttheclown 07-16-2004 07:19 PM

lol, thats a gheto band. Right on bro!

Captain Jack Sparrow 07-17-2004 05:15 PM

I've wanted to hear your stuff for ages, and i must say I'm impressed.

Leaving Transition - Pretty much constant sweetness the whole way through. Vocals sound a bit fuzzy in places but the music is spot on. I like the way you've compensated for the lack of drums with the percussive nature of your guitar parts.

The Scenery Decays - I don't like this one quite as much, sounds a little thin and cheesy. Try a different drum beat under it and putting some more melodic layers on. It also seems to be a bit of an anti-climax at the end.

Our First Summer - Like the way this one's starting, good production. the lead accoustic motif is cool. I like the way this track climaxes and then calms down again in the middle. Maybe needs to last a bit longer.

Overall - Good job. As I mentioned before, some of the vocals sound a little fuzzy, but in terms of musical talent etc. I really like it.
Loving it man....Hey any way I can get a tab of that stuff?
sorry man. it would take me forever. we have like 4 guitars overdubbed on those songs

xXAcousticTearsXx 07-21-2004 04:26 PM

Oh that's cool, Very good though

i love it dude!! this is probably the first time I've heard something in the audio arena i'd actually burn onto a cd and listen to all the time. this is GREAT keep up the good work.

valgore 07-28-2004 05:42 PM

Decent stuff. Sounds good enough to be on the shelf of a shop. Very nice work...especially leaving transition.

SixStringKing 07-28-2004 06:55 PM

Who were your Acoustic inspirations? I like your sound the guitars probably the best ive heard out of acoustics in a while. Leaving transition is a tight song dude...props on the four guitars thats gotta take some time to perfect eh?

wishiwaskurt210 07-29-2004 05:41 AM

wow :gets acustic out of attic:

Firecracker 07-29-2004 07:52 AM

oooh i'm loving this. great talent you have there.

kennethroxx 07-29-2004 03:39 PM

Hey, like everyone else i love leaving transition. the only complain id have would be the vocals... that guitar work is just to fresh to spoil with vocals, id suggest maybe someoen with some better vocal chops, or maybe even female, someone Avril Lavigne sounding.. just a suggestion. nice work again man.. songs like this i love because they can be both artisticaly talented and radio/mtv hits...keep it up

kramerplayer 07-30-2004 05:00 AM

Hey,
I LOVE this song! You guys are great! How long have you been together as a band?

i personally think their singer has some skill one of the best singers ive heard in audio arena how dare you say avril lavigne sing for this song the guitar is way too good for her voice to spoil it lol

CommieCanada 08-06-2004 06:29 PM

wow no one replies in like a month and now it is a 2 page thread...

anyway, i do the vocals and i am self taught which explains my sucking. as to the question asking how long we have been a band, we arent really a band. this is just an acoustic sideproject i was a part of. we started writting songs right before we began recording. most of the finished songs had parts added on that we thought sounded cool (thus the four or so overdubbed guitars). all the recording was done in my associates bedroom with no studio time.

Hadji 08-06-2004 06:39 PM

i was listening to "The Scenery Decays" as a Champ's commercial was playing in the background. the music was almost the same...

Liquid Force 08-06-2004 06:46 PM

i like it. good acoustic music.

xtreme chess 08-28-2004 12:02 AM

that was beyond awsome dude, i would buy your record for sure

SkidRow 08-28-2004 01:41 AM

Not really my syle but I respect it because it is written well. I say keep with it if this is what you love doing because you are good at it.

CommieCanada 10-02-2004 11:05 AM

thanks a lot

Johnny Roxburgh 10-03-2004 03:58 PM

Wow dude, you've obviously put a lot of effort into recording these songs. Care to share any of your recording tips?

I liked all three songs, it's not really my sort of music but I can appreciate it's quality. I really liked the singing, thought it went really well with the instrumentation, which was superb. I thought maybe some clean electric overdubs would have worked well but hey you're the composer, and it's a minor point anyway. I hope you guys stick together, you have incredible potential.

Ya, same here. Good job man.

Liquid Force 10-03-2004 05:20 PM

thats a real good recording. what software did you use?

RichHunt 10-03-2004 09:45 PM

That's reeaaally nice man (Leaving Transition).

I like how you didn't come in with really whiney vocals. They're nice and soft, good work. Still a bit whiney though, but much better than most stuff around.
