The Mars Volta hit their peak at [I]Frances The Mute[/I].

That is all I have to say about this.

The Mars Volta only good work was Deloused. But even that was meh.

Its good, but quite forgettable.

It's really not that great in my opinion. And I loved amputecture :/

They've changed alot, and it's a bad one i feel.

Well I read they have music made for at least 2 more albums, and the next one they will plan to record (after working out kinks and such) will be a lot more chilled out and like a jam, and I think thats when the mars volta can be at their best.

I never really liked them, and I'm usually into experimental stuff. Mostly it's the singing/lyrics that annoys me.

I disagree, but the argument between Frances The Mute and Deloused could go on forever so I wont bother. Its not necessarly long jams I like, just chilled out Mars Volta (like the quiet parts in Roulette Dares).

I don't get the Frances hype.

Frances has grown on me a ton since when I first listened to it. Now I see it right up there with De-loused, if not better at times.

I like the album for the most part. Goliath, Ouroborous, and Conjugal Burns are all crazy good.

I've never listened to this band. Some serious douchebags like and praise them a lot, which has dissuaded me. I need someone with credibility to back them up if there's any chance I'm going to spend my precious bandwidth pirating their music.

in reference to Animal Collective, this is pretty true. Some serious fags are into AC. They're pretty popular. That can be said of so many good bands though.

I cannot deny that this happens. I saw a girl on a social networking site who listed "Animal Collection" as one of her favorite bands. The internet is great.

But srsly, TMV create an image in my mind of an entity I don't want to be associated with. Is it worth looking into?
