The Decemberists
 

Really great band. Anyone else like them? My favorite song is Clementine.

If there's a person in this forum that actually dislikes the Decemberists, I'd like to know.

I don't think I could ever dislike them, they are too good.

Decemberists are cool. I really liked their first two albums. [i]Picaresque[/i] was a bit weak, in my opinion. And "The Sporting Life" is annoying. But Colin Meloy is cool. I met him once.

Where'd you meet him?

I've only heard like 4 or so songs by the guys but they're good. If I see one of their albums in the shop sometime I'll buy it.

ahh yes the decemberist. Very good band, very good lyrics. Been to one of there concerts before, and it was the second best concert i've ever been too mext to The Of Montreal show i went to, they put on a great show.

i also hate the decemberists. their lyrics are pretty good, but that doesn't make them a good band. i wish i liked them, but i could write a decemberists song in 2 minutes i reckon.

not a fan, i bought picaresque thinking it was the best thing ever, havn't listened through the whole album once

The Decemberists are one of my favorite bands, I love them.

I enjoy the music that is made by The Decemberists.

Ah, finally some haters.

I personally am a fan, but it's good to know they exist.

I'm not always in the mood for them, but when I am it usually lasts a while. "The Bachelor and the Bride", "Odalisque" and "We Both Go Down Together" are my favorite Decemberists songs.

Brilliant band. I had to resight Engine Driver for a Drama performance and it went really good actually.

I'd love to see them live.

I was really pissed off when I missed them the last time they came near me.

I saw Colin Meloy solo and he puts on a great show, very intimate yet funnny. After seeing that though, I really want to see the whole band perform.

Yeah, I saw him too. El Rey. It was a pretty fun show. We got to name the sheep "Eric with a C with a K."

Definitely get [i]Castaways and Cutouts[/i]. It's their best album, in my opinion.

They were playing a show near me late in '05 and I missed it, I was so depressed that I let myself miss their show :(. On a lighter note, I have some of their live stuff which is fantastic as well as Colin Meloy Live at Beachcomber, which is pretty good stuff too. It's funny, during [I]Bachelor and the Bride[/I], Meloy forgets the words and he has to have the crowd sing along with him.

Yeah, that's my favorite album of their's too.

I hate their lyrics and Meloy's style of singing, so I could never get into them. They also seem to come off as all style/gimmick and no real substance.
