level 42 has a good bassist
 Perhaps thats why I put:
Mark King

Level 42
Come on man, I dont care whether you think he is good, thats not what this thread is for. Read the thread, read the rules, and quit stating your pointless opinions. |
Personal thing, I would have separated Jazz and Blues as they are very diferent genres of music
|
system of a down is listed twice in "metal section" :p
|
You already have System of a Down on there, but you might want to put the name of their actual bassist (Shavo Odadjin) under good bassists, just so he can get a bit of credit.
|
what baout Klaus Fluoride from Dead Kennedys? is riffs are good...
|
you should definetly put Edgar Meyer up here... if you haven't heard him then you should definetly check him out.
|

How about dividing each music genre into things like: Technical Bass, Melodic Bass, Slap/Pop, Speed?, etc...
|
Missing Rammstein, they have some sweet lines, you should add it in.

Thanks
How about dividing each music genre into things like: Technical Bass, Melodic Bass, Slap/Pop, Speed?, etc...
No, thats too subjectve. thanks though |
Very subjective, but how is Emperor's bassist "talented to some degree"? Ihsahn writes everything! The only time Emperor's bassist impressed me was the touring bassist off of Live Emperial Ceremonies, the one with a 6er. And all he was doing was playing arpeggios.
|
Wow thanks for that list. Gonna go out and check those funmky bass lines out.
|
Good list, but you could probably add Return to Forever to Jazz/Blues bands, unless I just missed them.
|
Dead Kennedys
Public Image Ltd ("Happy" especially is good :thumb: ) New York Dolls (esp. "Personality Crisis") |
Missing Base Bass players
Roger Waters from Pink Floyd
Juan Aldrete from The Mars Volta :thumb: |
24-7 Spyz have an amazing bassist...they are kinda funk/rock ..with a little reggae influence, amazing stuff
|
Punk-

screen silver: legendery bassist
The burning virgins: Amazing bassist SKANKt:Simply sic |
If you're looking for good songs to play with, believe it or not,
Mike dirnt is probaly one of the best bassists out there, I mean like top 10 on electric bass in rock/ punk, but billiejoe usually hides mike's talent in most greenday songs, and gives them good guitar parts. But out of billie's guitarness, most greenday songs are incredibly easy and fun to play along to, with easy riffs and choruses. Just don;t try homecoming or jesus of suburbia first... go greenday!! ~KN~ |
