The Saddest song
I'm sure this has problibly been done before, but I want to know, what you all consider to be the saddest song that you have ever heard. Or any songs that may have made you think. Or the most depressing. I would like them to be songs that I could find. :thumb: thanks for your help. Please I really need some kind of list.

My saddest song would be:
The Funeral Party by The Cure And my most depressing song would be: The Eternal by Joy Division |
Porcupine Tree - A Heartattack In A Layby
|
Pearl Jam - Last Kiss
Second verse is one of the saddest ever, it describes what happend right after a car wreak: "When I woke up the rain was pourin down, there were people standin all around. Something warm flowing through my eyes, but somehow I found my baby that night. I lifted her head, she looked at me and said: 'hold me darling, just a little While'. I held her close, I kissed her our last kiss. I found the love that I Knew I had missed. Well now she’s gone. even though I hold her tight. I lost my love, my life, That night." *tear* Other sad ones: Iced Earth - Watching Over Me (a power metal song about a best friend that dies?) Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven (ofcourse) Evanescence - My Imortal (it's pretty mainstream but still sad) The Used - It's Hard To Say, On My Own Opeth - In My Time Of Need |
Coldplay- The Scientist
or CAt Stevens- FAther and Son |
nine inch nails - hurt
converge - jane doe |
No Use For A Name - The Saddest Song
|
Just look for some random Joy Division songs.
One Life by The Last Emperor and Poetic is sad, too. Poetic had cancer at the time and rapped about how he had "three months left". Which he had. Sadly. He was great in The Gravediggaz. |
Pearl Jam - Last Kiss
|
Linkin Park - Breaking the habit..
Now THAT'S sad /lame joke that had to be done |
the smashing pumpkins - For Martha
martha = billy's mother who died of cancer |
Linkin Park - Breaking the habit..
Now THAT'S sad /lame joke that had to be done
Actually, "My December" is sadder. |
Joe Strummer/Johnny Cash - Redemption Song (originally Bob Marley)
Billy Bragg - Must I Paint You A Picture? |
Needle In The Hay - Elliott Smith
|
Even though I hate Elliot Smith, I must admit I like that song.
|
Antony and the Johnsons - The Lake
or The Smiths - I Know It's Over |
Set Fire To Flames - When Sorrow Shoots Her Darts
|
"Last Kiss" is a cover song; it was originally written by some guy who really did lose his girlfriend/wife in a car accident. It was the only song he ever wrote.
Trail of Dead- Source Tags and Codes. Listenin' to it now and decided that it fits the bill. |
Last Kiss
NIN/Johny Cash - Hurt |
Hmm. I think 'Last Kiss' is a cool pick, but the whole cover-song thing turns me off. The original is actually a lot sadder.
I'm going to have to say ADAM'S SONG! I mean, who better to totally convey in an unparalleled fashion the pain and suffering of suicide and the family members of the population-conscience victim than a bunch of pretty white boys with guitars, drums, and a lethal knowledge of three chords? Yeah. In all seriousness, I'd have to say 'Jesus Nitelight' by Eve 6. It was off their first album -- the one with 'Inside Out' -- and was a pretty cool piece of music. Really simple, the song only sports four chords and minimal musical talent, but the words really convey emotion. I'd really recommend checking it out. -- LoC |
Bjork - the song she sings in the final scene of the movie Dancer In The Dark
|
I think that "god of wine" by Thirdeyeblind is pretty sad. :upset:
|
elliott smith- twilight
that song, well, that whole album is pretty sad when you think about what the lyrics say then what happened after he wrote them. |

You should stick around, but you don't need to sign your posts. |
