yeah, so whos the best songwriter on these forums? i personally like maggot, power ranger, spectrumguitarist and some other people ive forgetting... anyway dont kill me because this is actually a new idea, at least i think so

post what you think, be sure you can back it up :)

My choice changes every day. Every writer has good and bad days, every writer has good and bad songs.

I appreciate your vote...but I think many people here are good in their own way. We got some unique styles, then gain we've got a lot of repetitive stuff too. I like to think that we are each the best at creating our own type of song though. Real hard to pick just one or two people when there are people who can do one thing and someone else can do another style better.

he's exactly right. honestly i don't like much of what i see because i listen to pop-punk and most of this stuff is death metal or really hard rock (basically saying that it's really dark). not to say that stuff isn't well written, the vocab and structuring is awesome, but it's just not my cup of tea. i prefer cups of kahlua. make that gallons.

mine is pop-punk borderline emo. i don't like emo myself but my lyrics come out that way. except the last couple songs i've written.. they're very well within pop-punk lines. pretty good too. but i won't post any of them up here because they always get bashed for being a pop-punk song and i get tired of seeing "3/10 because it's pop-punk. not a bad song! keep it up!" ~ that's the most annoying thing. i get it every post too so i just rely on friends for criticism.

Song writing shouldn't be a competition....with that being said, its very hard to say because some people on here post songs religously while there are some that don't post so often, so it's harder to remember them...Also, songwriting is more than just words...It's musical arrangements and lyrics together that makes songwriters....So I once again will not judge from just reading lyrics....Best lyrics in the world would suck if sung to horrible music, and vice versa.

Andy a.k.a. BlacklightGuitarist has some really good stuff on here, so i'll say he's my FAVORITE, not necessarily the best. :thumb:

im not sure really like sometimes a person will write sometihng i really like and think is one of the best pieces i have seen on the fourm then the next thing they post will be pretty poor. im not really into all that vampyre and unicorn and dark ages song writing i find it abit boaring i prefer the clever stuff like that one written about hyporcrism (sorry agbout my poor spelling)
