Ben Folds - Way To Normal
Cut Copy - In Ghost Colours (I know it came out during the summer but I haven't stopped listening to it. definitely one of my top albums of 2008)

YourBiggestFan 10-06-2008 04:06 PM

:'( I don't think it's crazy.

Deerhoof and Shugo Tokumaru right now. Maybe I've got a Japanese thing going on. As long as I don't turn into Rivers Cuomo I'll be alright though.

Oh, speaking of deerhoof, has anyone heard their new album? I usually try and not steal brand new albums if I think I'll end up liking them, but you know how that goes. . . .

samarahah 10-06-2008 06:45 PM

friend oppurtunity is good, although less chaotic than former albums.

I've been going to The Tallest Man On Earth every time I can't think of something I want to listen to, and for good reason. "The Gardner" is probably my #1 song of 2008.

cbmartinez 10-07-2008 07:24 AM

has anyone else been digging miles benjamin anthony robinson's album? i listened to it last night and it's definitely one of the most exciting albums of the year. it reminds me of bon iver, not in its sound necessarily but in the raw honesty of the album. the music is closer to a mix between the microphones and a bit of modest mouse, some psych folk craziness in there too. the album has appearances by members of tvotr and grizzly bear, he does a lot of that vocal layering that both aforementioned bands use. you guys should check it out, he's on tour with lykke li right now.
thanks :D
The album is pretty sweet, kind of a more upbeat Bon Iver. The vocalist does remind me a bit of the vocalist from Modest Mouse as well. Thanks for the recommendation.
