Brent stop trying to make yourself seem like a victim.
Also how did the interview go Tyler? |
Also how did the interview go Tyler?
Really, really well. He's a hell of a nice guy and he was pretty candid about everything. He got going on the Tony Choy situation but really wanted to emphasize that while it sucked ass what happened, he and Choy are still extremely close and that if Tony found the time and desire to tour with them, he'd be totally happy about it. It was odd that he didn't know Hellwitch came back last year, I was asking him about the Florida scene and mentioned they put an album out last year and he seemed really surprised, said he hadn't talked to Pat in a long time. He's genuinely stoked on their new stuff, and I agree with him that Jupiter is definitely more like Unquestionable Presence than anything. Maybe even Piece of Time. He said Elements wasn't really an "Atheist" record just because it wasn't written in the same context. |
lol @ elim
Also, Kelly talked about the Faceless. Just thought you should know.
probably because The Faceless is this generation's Atheist its how music evolves, Atheist influences The Faceless, then The Faceless influences some band, etc. also that they toured together, pretty crazy how good their booking agent is to get them with pretty much every band they worship (Atheist, Meshuggah, Cynic, Decapitated, etc) |
He really only said that he doesn't know how Steve was able to do it on tour with the Faceless because he'd basically play with Gnostic, then Faceless would play and then he'd do a set with Atheist.
|
stoked for Faceless tomorrow
stoked for Fleshgod |
Suffocation and TTEOTD are the best bands (live) on that bill, js.
The Faceless still plays the set they played like 2 years ago. |
Suffocation and TTEOTD are the best bands (live) on that bill, js.

Yeah because Suffocation and TTEOTD aren't known for their epic live performances or anything...
I've personally never seen The Faceless live, but I've heard that they're real disappointing and that they almost never change up their sets. Decrepit Birth is Decrepit Birth, and Fleshgod is cool but I can't see them topping Suffo and TTEOTD, that's all. |
dayum bruh, I've seen them over 9000 times
after pd came out they tightened up their act really well, they did change up their set before pd came out - played one new song (ancient covenant) when pd came out - 3 new songs (sons of belial, coldly calculated + ancient covenant) then they started playing Akeldama (the song) on the Meshuggah tour then they started playing Legion of the Serpent on the BTBAM tour then they played all of PD on a headlining tour + 3 Akeldama songs then they did a couple tours (Europe, Summer Slaughter) now they're playing a new song so |
Regardless, Suffocation and TTEOTD are incredible live acts.~*~*~*
And whatever you say, I've heard the lack of set changes from like 10+ people, js. Also, I don't see one song being added or subtracted at a time as a major change, sorry. |
implying other bands dont have two year tour cycles
pd came out oh hey! two years ago. |
Most dm bands (that I've seen at least) change up their sets almost every tour js.
And why are you being sassy? Also, example: Saw TTEOTD the first time in 2004, set = Beneath Dying Skies, Autumn Tint Of Gold, Forever Ends Today, Reconstruction Of The Female Anatomy 2005 (first time): Abyssal Creation, Autumn Tint Of Gold, Beneath Dying Skies, Reconstruction, Truest Shade Of Crimson 2005 (second time): Two Inches, Beneath Dying Skies, When Forever Becomes Nothing, Reconstruction, Truest Shade Of Crimson, To Take Comfort 2006 (first time): Reconstruction, When Forever Becomes Nothing, Erratic Perception, Beneath Dying Skies, Bringer Of Truth 2006 (second time): Force Fed Trauma, Reconstruction, Abyssal Creation, Beneath Dying Skies, Bringer Of Truth, Truest Shade Of Crimson, To Take Comfort, Two Inches 2007: Force Fed Trauma, Abyssal Creation, Truest Shade Of Crimson, Beneath Dying Skies, Failure In The Flesh, Two Inches etc. And between the 2006 dates I saw vids of them playing other songs off Scars Of Ages and Bloodlust as well. |

i'd love to see Fleshgod live |
talked to decrepit birth/odious mortem's bassist who was plastered. He was talking about how good their new stuff is compared to old, basically was trashing it and saying it was a rush job. Turned out p good considering.
Stoked for the new album, not stoked they prob wont tour |
Transcribing this interview and I forgot that Kelly Shaefer called Elements the red-headed step-child of Atheist albums.
|
|
yea so new atheist leaked
|
yea so new atheist leaked

1 out of 3 aint bad
i'd love to see Fleshgod live
You'd rather see Suffo though let's be honest. |
well the new atheist was pretty meh
|
yea, thought it was alright on the initial listen
|
i think cocaine got some funds for that 4/5 review
you won't see that part of the interview w/ Shaefer when they negotiated the price "I'll make sure our label gets you the 500" "500??? Thought we agreed on 6" "Nah dude, 500 take it or leave it" |
Which album do you guys prefer between Piece of Time and Unquestionable Presence?
|
Piece of Time.
adb, shut up. It got better with repeated listens. I've had it for weeks, it's not like I'm basing my opinion off a quick leak. |
atheist - 4/5 interview interview done w/ band member
red chord - 4/5 interview done w/ band member probably more but too lazy to check, all im sayin is the shoe fits those albums are obv not that good |
Devin Townsend, gave his 3.5
Wolves in the Throne Room, also 3.5 Congrats Brent, you've discovered a conspiracy. Now shut the fuck up. |
well the new atheist was pretty meh
cause you like sex with boys |
Devin Townsend, gave his 3.5
so would you agree that this is the coolest guy you've interviewed |
Kelly and Devin were the nicest, Greg from the Red Chord was the funniest and dude from WITTR was the most..uh..unique.
|
its not a 4 for adb until a planet begins to explode
|
the entire album is about planets being the fruit of life of course he'd hate it
