you guys should check out DBoon's free music thread. ive been uploading some lesser known stuff, plus it needs some bumpage.
I should remember to venture out into R&M and check for interesting threads every once in a while.

Broken Arrow 04-12-2005 06:49 PM

Yeah I haven't been here for a mighty long time. Been listening to some reall chillin' music and I bought one of those wool poncho's with sleeves and some bitchin' aviators./

Distant Echoes 04-12-2005 06:50 PM

Ive been listening to rush alot more lately, and I decided to look for a Working Man tab (like i have before), and once again remembered, Ive been on every exsisting tabs site online and dont have a full tab - all just the same fragments. Im not asking anyone to tab, but if somebody knows what scale Lifeson is using, that could help alot.
In terms of rawness.
Well, that is a stupid classification.

If true, that is.

Broken Arrow 04-12-2005 07:07 PM
Well, that is a definitely stupid classification.
You, know part of why I left was because of you making stupid remarks like that all the time like you are some kind of god and you run the thread. If you're going to post why not add more than that because you basically said that 5 pages ago.

RockAndRoll 04-12-2005 07:11 PM

Heh heh, thats better.

What have you guys been listening to?

ATM 04-12-2005 07:21 PM

Lately, I have been listening to Electric Ladyland a lot.

According to my scrobbler, my top bands from this week are:

Radiohead
Air
Sage Francis
Belle and Sebastian
Pink Floyd
Frank Zappa
Atmosphere
Neil Young
Hieroglyphics
Porcupine Tree

A pretty good mix

Looks like Jimi has it now.

I used to have that icon for my AIM, and I had a shirt with it on it that kicked ***. But it got destroyed because one of my bleech bottles leaked and my mom poured the rest into an empty degergent bottle and didn't tell anybody. So when I used the "detergent" on my cloths, BAM! all gone.

D'YerMak'er 04-12-2005 07:25 PM

Jimi Hendrix is the best. I just bought Electric Ladyland a couple weeks ago. I'm set to get Are you experienced? soon....when I have more money.

R.I.P. Jimi

Cool, man. Good choice. What is your favorite Hendrix song?

that's a great site! I like all the paintings. I just got a Hendrix poster a while ago. My parents are scared that I listen to rock...not typical (in their eyes) I guess.
Cool, man. Good choice. What is your favorite Hendrix song?
I really can't pick one, but here are a few:

Manic Depression (mitch mitchell- awesome drummer)
Fire
Crosstown Traffic
Are you experienced?
Freedom
just to name a few...

what are your favorites?

I need this for my room.

My favorite Hendrix songs are:

1983
Still Raining, Still Dreaming
Red House
Little Wing
Machine Gun

And many, many more.

pigonthewing82 04-12-2005 07:32 PM

I think that from that awsome wah opening to Voodoo Child, to the end of Jimi Hendrix live at Woodstock is the best peice of recorded music of all time.

Just an opinion.

D'YerMak'er 04-12-2005 07:32 PM

I'm actually listening to Little Wing right now.

this is insane:
Today I was humming a Hendrix song, and someone said who's that by? I told them...then they said he was horrible and over-rated. I was speechless.

VOODOO CHILD! how could I miss that one...it's actually my all-time favorite. I did a speech on Jimi Hendrix and used this song as an introduction...it was awesome. especially since most in my class had no idea who it was.

have you seen the live at the isle of wight dvd?

It is insanely good.

And D'YerMak'er, people are entitled to opinions. There is no reason to try and force how you feel on somebody else. People generally don't like what I listen to, but as long as they respect it I have no problem with them :)

I've got that. I love watching it. It is just amazing to me how many people were there. Also, Hendrix kept walking around the stage in the middle of songs, that was kind of odd. I love when he plays with his teeth during Foxy Lady.

D'YerMak'er 04-12-2005 07:36 PM

I can't believe someone would really want to disrespect Hendrix, but you do have a point. I'm sure they don't understand why I don't like their music too.

D'YerMak'er 04-12-2005 07:37 PM

I can't believe he played his guitar upside down and backwards....I can barely play right side up! It's also amazing when he plays behind his head....crazy.

Illmatic 04-12-2005 07:38 PM

Best Jimi Hendrix song: Machine Gun

Game over.

ATM 04-12-2005 07:42 PM

Nobody could ever play that exactly how he did. It's an amazing song.
Best Jimi Hendrix song: Machine Gun

Yeah, since I can't really count almost an entire disk as one song I would have to go with that. Though I think his Jam at the end of Woodstock is more impressive then the jams in Machine Gun. Though I have a feeling that that one is just me. I just love how insane the whole solo is, then just calms itself down at the end and all you can do is sit there with your mouth open.

gmoneyguy 04-12-2005 07:48 PM

Hey guys I'm back.

I finally got a hold of all things must pass
